Ressa had ridden off again. This time she ventured out further, she always did. She really liked being alone out there with nothing but the comforting sounds of nature.

From water running down the river, wind whistling along trees to the calls of animals. She took a deep breathe...

Nathan Aroi possessed such vast lands as far as the eyes could see. Hills, forests, valleys, rivers and streams like she couldn’t fucking believe. She liked houses but that was as far as it went.

Since around six years old she’d spent almost each night sleeping outside, no roofs, when they set up camp. Sometimes under a clouded sky, others under tree branches but she especially liked those times under the stars.

She had named one particular bright star Mildred, after her mother. The star only appeared after a few weeks for a few days.  Ostensibly a bit silly but she liked to think it was her mother checking up on her. Every time she saw it she knew it was well as crazy as that sounded.

She couldn’t take too much time cramped inside walls. The benefit with Nathan abode, it compared in vastness to his lands. Nature offered a continuous calm in her life but also a distraction, mostly, an escape. On that occasion she sort both, from Lorian.

They had been around for about three weeks and he slowly took up space in her head.

Eli was amazing. Slow by slow he became her friend. He had an intelligent mind that left her gawking sometimes. Considering this came from her not some maiden whose greatest learning achievement was etiquette lessons that had to mean something, she held nothing against them, her aspirations just transcended the norm.

It explained his calculative, patient, think first nature. She found him truly attractive and could see him as a husband. One fucking problem though, a stud named Lorian ignited the dimmed sparks that were her feminine passion in a way Eli didn’t.

Each time she ran into him a breath was knocked out of her and a feeling she could only guess was lust consumed her.

Guess, because she had no idea about these things but mostly because her blood warmed, her chest tightened and her baby maker flamed up in a way that had her convinced she would jump on the guy if she didn’t leave.

She chuckled to herself, baby maker. Always getting lost in her thoughts.
The past weeks had been mentally exhausting.

She got closer to Eli, with each passing day learning something new. She challenged herself to learn as much about society and civilization as she knew about the wild. To her utter joy he always indulged her seemingly amused. Nevertheless it was a win-win situation.

Anyone would think he was courting her but none of them had made a move. As if something held each of them back. Granted Eli apparently the one supposed to but she wasn’t a conventional lady.

Lady, hah.

On the other hand, the fucking stud had done nothing either. Not the one meant to be courting her, that may be understandable though.

Someone then needed to explain it to her why she couldn’t get him the fuck out of her fucking head. The dreams she had been having about him would make many a maiden turn scarlet.  A girl could drive herself into wondering which in Ressa’s case made her go mad.

A crazy girl crazier, well damn.

Like the time she sat between Eli and Lorian at dinner. She chatted away with Eli ignoring Lorian and his silent brooding nature that particular evening. She couldn’t read the guy, yet, it also drove her crazy. He seemed to be avoiding her gaze so would she.
