Virgil lowered his journal onto his bedside table, a deep yawn escaping his lips. With one final glance around the comfortable darkness, he closed his eyes and dug his head into his pillow. Sleeping- he'd been doing a lot of that recently.

Normally Virgil found himself popping into the family lounge for discussions, but in the past few days he'd felt forgotten. No summoning, no arguing, nothing. It admittedly worried him, so much that he almost considered popping in voluntarily. But what was the point in making Thomas anxious over nothing?

Suddenly, there was a familiar, malicious laugh. Virgil gasped before hastily bolting upright, fear seizing his heart. With a clutch of his purple bed sheets, he called into the empty space surrounding him.

"D-deceit?" He hadn't meant to stammer. "What do you want?"

The snake approached him, a perilous grin on his face. "Didn't you miss me Virgil?"

"You know I hate you. Now get out!" Virgil ordered.

Deceit pouted, pacing towards his side. With one swift movement he held two fingers under his chin, lifting his eyes to his own. Virgil quickly jerked his head away, flinching un certainly.

"Shame. Your friends don't seem to agree." Deceit spoke smoothly, retracting his hand.

"What are you talking about?" Virgil narrowing his eyes before hissing. "Get lost!"

In a second Deceit swiped the journal from his bedside, a terrible grin on his face. Virgil's eyes widened as he hastily attempted to grab it from him, but before he could the snake cackled and disappeared.

Virgil wasted no time. He burst into the living room with a snap of his fingers, searching around the dim lighting.

"Virgil!" Thomas screamed. He jumped from the couch, gripping his blanket tightly to his chest. "What in the name of-"

"-Sorry, sorry," Virgil hastily apologised, his face turning red. He disappeared as quick as he came, leaving a confused Thomas standing alone atop the sofa.

Virgil returned to room, trying his best to steady his frightened breaths. Fear clawed at his insides at the thought of ever shared what he had written in that journal, especially with Thomas.

Hastily he jumped into Patton's room, causing him to jolt.

"Kiddo?" Patton spoke, his voiced etched in surprise. He was dressed head to toe in a grey cat onesie, a warm cup of cacao in his hands.

"Oh, hey Dad," Virgil greeted causally, trying to hide the uncomfortable expression on his face. He scanned his eyes around, quickly concluding that Deceit was elsewhere.

"Is everything okay?" Patton adjusted the black rimmed glasses on his nose, his usual smile curved into a concerned frown.

"Yeah," Vigil replied dismissively before waving a swift goodbye.

He burst into Roman's bedroom, who had the usual 'jolt and surprise' reaction.

"Virgil, you emo-nightmare," he spat with frustration. "What are you-"

"-Whatever Princy!" He rolled his eyes, disappearing into Logan's room as quickly as he could.

"Argh, Virgil!" Logan yelled. His eyes were red like they've been crying behind his glasses, but Virgil was too overwhelmed with panic to try and comfort him.

"Yeah, whatever. Is he- no? Then I'm off." Vigil left, returning to his room with a flustered groan. His heart was pounding painfully in his chest, and sweat was pooling into his hands. He did his best to breath, running his fingers through his dark brown and purple hair.

A sly voice echoed the bedroom. "I'll give you a chance to save your precious secrets, Virgil. Come to my side." Deceit proceeded fade out with a perilous snigger.

Virgil clenched his fists. He had no idea what caused Deceit to suddenly do this to him, but he was certain it was revengeful. With a sharp exhale he resentfully transported himself to the Dark side's door, entering to a world of disharmony.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hello, thank you for reading my story!

Just a heads up, this piece of Sander sides fan fiction takes place along the true timeline and dimension of the original videos created by Thomas sanders, directly after the events of 'selfishness vs selflessness.' I have decided to write as though during that episode both Logan and Virgil were in their rooms, completely unaware of Janus's name reveal.

I publish one chapter daily :) Enjoy the story!
