TW- Mention of Suicide, Angstish

(PS This chapter starts at the start of the previous chapter!)

Virgil adjusted his jacket on his shoulders, glancing vaguely in the direction of Deceit on the opposite side of the room. He looked wrecked with his hair uncombed, his jacket undignified and his chin a gruesome red.

"Virgil, are you alright?" Thomas whispered. Virgil nodded, turning to Remus.

He had a smile on his lips, but his expression was anything but happy. "Do you think he'll tell the truth?"

Thomas sighed, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm not sure there is anything left worth lying about."

Roman banged his gavel, commencing the hearing. "Hello and welcome to the hearing of Janus Sanders. Until the declared end of the hearing everyone is under oath. I will now read out the charges. Firstly, imprisoning Patton and Logan Sanders in a cell, both of whom are present today. secondly, injecting Logan with a toxic venom rendering him challenged and thirdly, physically threatening to strangle Patton Sanders. Janus, how do you plead?"

Virgil crossed his arms tightly over his chest, anxious viewing a petrified Deceit. "T-Thomas, I don't like this, Deceit has never looked like this before."

Thomas wrapped his arms around his own shivering anxiety, murmuring softly. "It's okay, he'll be alright."

Janus let out a pained hiss as he stammered, "Not guilty."

Remus himself let out an exclamation of suffering, gripping his stomach uncomfortably. "No, no he only hisses when he's scared..."

Virgil embraced him tightly, inhaling sharply. "He must be really stressed."

Logan soon made his way to the stand, an oddly smug look on his face.

"Logan, were you indeed held prisoner by this man before you?"

"Yes, your honour."

"For how many hours were you held prisoner?"

Logan responded. "Roughly 12."

"How many times were you injected with snake venom?"

Logan turned to Janus before speaking. "Three."

Remus turned to Virgil, digging his nails with panic into Virgil's arm. Virgil let out a cry, tugging his arm away, staring at Remus.

"Guys, Logan just lied, it was only twice!"

"What? Are you sure?" Thomas queried. "Patton hasn't objected."

Roman asked a follow up question. "Were you given access to basic human needs, such as food, water and bedding, during the injecting and when you were in his cell?"

"Yes your honour, when I was in the cell. Not during the injecting however, he in fact he denied me a drink."

"Why is Logan lying?" Remus growled. "He is not getting away with this!" He was about to stand when Janus raised his voice.

"No! I object, that did not happen!"

Roman glowered at him and reminded him of the rules before dismissing his comment and inviting Patton to the witness box.

"Hello Patton. I first must confirm, were you held captive with Logan for the duration of the 12 hours?"

"Yes your honour."

"Did you return to dark side voluntarily after you were released?"

"Yes."

"For what reason?"
