Janus slithered cautiously through the light side corridor, hesitantly entering the living room movie session. Virgil was the first to register his presence, laying atop Roman's horizontal body with his ear to his chest. The two were embracing. Janus quickly shifted his gaze, turning to Patton who was curled in a sky blue sheet beside Remus who gave him a fond wave. Janus smiled half-heartedly back, meeting Logan's eyes.
Logan beckoned him, gesturing to the seat beside him on a large plush bean bag. Janus narrowed his eyes suspiciously, hesitantly planting himself beside logic with his arms folded. Logan straightened his glasses, pointing a firm finger toward Virgil and Roman. "Do they look like they're in love?"
Janus gritted his teeth, whispering sharply. "You were right, logic prevails once again. Is it a point that you're making, or are you simply wallowing in my misconduct?"
Logan scoffed. "Listen to me. Virgil and Roman are social opposites and yet they pose strong feeling for one another. The same principle applies to both you and Patton."
"Logan," Janus murmured, "I know that."
"Then why are so hesitant to engage with him if you both love each other?"
"That's the the problem!" Janus yelled. "I don't know how genuine his feelings are, what if he's simply pretending? I know full well that he conceals his true emotions for Thomas's sake, I don't want him to do the same for me!" Everyone jerked their heads towards him, their expressions laced with surprise. Janus breathed, "It takes a lier to know a lier, and I know Patton is a lier."
Patton stood to his feet. "I admit it, I am a person who regularly denies the truth! But Janus, my feeling for you could not be more real. I love you, and I can tell you many reasons why!"
"Go ahead!" Janus tried loudly. "Name three!"
"Fine! Number one, I feel valid in your company, you give me purpose because you need my help! Number two, you ask me how I feel, you don't just assume that I am always happy just because I'm morality! Number three, you love your sons more than anything in the world, and I love you for that because that's my biggest value too!"
Janus felt his eyes widening, his skin tingling with excitement. He lunged forward, embracing Patton tightly in his arms with tears in his eyes. "You love me? you really do love me?"
"I love you," Patton confirmed with a sweet laugh, "I really do love you."

As Patton and Janus exited the room, Remus smirked, moving friskily with his hands on his hips. "I don't suppose they're going to do each other tonight?"
Virgil shielded his eyes from Remus's suggestive dance before pushing a palm against Roman's chest, pressing the prince's back against the couch. Roman gave him a baffled, lopsided smile, his pulse elevating as he felt Virgil's cool fingers caressing his torso. "Now that Patton is preoccupied, care to explain how you earned these scars?"
Logan felt a strong sense of regret slam into his gut. "Roman! You swore it would remain secret!"
Remus face palmed, though he was concealing a grin. "Well, it couldn't hurt to explain it to him now, could it?"
"Please can I tell him?" Roman cupped his hands together, pouting with puppy dog eyes. "Before you answer, I'll remind you that you are the coolest nerd I've ever known."
Logan exhaled deeply, rolling his eyes. "Fine. It was about four years ago, when the twins were communicating through the mind palace without Janus's or Patton's consent. They met up regularly, but especially at night for optimum safety from prying eyes. I was off course completely aware of it, but chose to keep my mouth shut as I disagreed strongly with the decision of seperate the two brothers."
"I don't know if I ever properly thanked you for that," Roman smiled gratefully. "Thank you. Anyway, Remus and I created a mythical creature which we dubbed The-crazy-big-mama-dragon, but we have recently renamed to, The-dragon-witch, for obvious reasons. We wanted her to be totally OP, so we could have a real challenge in defeating her. The good news is that we succeeded, the bad news was that she was so powerful we couldn't un-contour her without slaying her first."
"Okay..." Virgil questioned slowly. "So you tried to slay her but you got injured?"
"Well," Roman hummed awkwardly with pursed lips. "I wouldn't have gotten injured, but..."
"...I got in the way," Logan exhaled sorrowfully, "It was all my fault. I almost killed Roman."
