Janus paced up and down his bedroom for almost a full hour, the gears in his mind twisting and turning like a Rubik's Cube. It was early in the morning, only around 9 o'clock, but he was exhausted. However, he could not sleep- not at a time so dire.
Janus spoke to himself, conversing somewhat insanely. "Should I release my prisoners? Cling onto whatever morality I have left? Or would my time be better spent scheming, since I still have a chance to win over my sons with force? I can't do nothing, I have to do something, something, something!" He screamed the last word. He paused to exhaled, and then continued.
"I need to make a decision. Free the prisoners, or fight a battle I have higher odds losing?" Deceit gritted his teeth aggressively. This was exactly what he'd argued in the courtroom. A choice between something that served him and something else that served him. Janus shook his head, returning to his self-destructive thoughts. "Am I a psychopath? Was Logan right?" He sobbed through his speech. "I'm a terrible person, and if I value my sons at all I would do right by them and free Logan and Patton. Right? But then I'll be doomed forever, no one will love me ever again. I'll basically die, I'll die if I don't-" he squealed desperately. He needed Logan, he was ironically the only one who could make the most logical decision for him.
"Fine!" He yelled at himself. "I'll do what Virgil wants. You've won, you've won you pathetic emo loner crap arse loser with racoon eyes and the face of a toe. I hate you, I hate my son!" He was shaking, leaning onto the wall for stability.
He allowed him a few minutes of recovery time, before taking the keys and taking the slowest most shameful walk of his life to the prison cell.
Within the cell, Patton and Logan watched with suspicion and disbelief as Janus silently slipped the key into the lock and twisted his hand, creaking open the iron bar door.
He returned to the bedroom as quick as he could, and slammed the door close with a thud. He would never leave his room again, hunger and thirst would kill him first.
"I can't handle the shame; I can't handle the embarrassment. It's like hide and seek. If the seeker never finds me, I never lose, right?" Janus cradled his head in his hands. "Unbelievable. I'd rather die than show humility. I really am the most useless man in the world."

Hi readers, i just wanted to make it clear that although this story seems to be coming to an end, (with the release of Patton and Logan and all,) that is not the case! This is just the beginning, especially once an even nastier threat than Janus comes knocking on their door! Just wanted to make sure you knew that. :)
Also, if you are enjoying the story, (or not,) please let me know in the comments. I'm having fun, but if i can modify this story in anyway to make it more audience pleasing, let me know. (And if there is nothing i can modify coz its an unfixable error that i've made, the next story i write i can change up the entirety of what im doing wrong so long as you give me your honest feedback :)) Thank you :)
