City Heartbreak

These city lights never meant that much to me
They're for all the dreamers
The white noise never makes me want to leave
That's for all the sleepers

And I miss you, I do
Even though I know you're gone
One day I hope you'll come back to me
And we can dance all night long
And I hate you
Even though you're right there in my heart
I know that you never left in the first place
But please understand, you're taking sleep away

These city lights always meant that much to me
They're for all the screaming and bleeding
The white noise always make me want to leave
That's because I don't need healing

Though you aren't here,
I promise I won't let your memory go
And although what I remember will fade
And it'll grow as hazy as all the other days I play in,
I shall keep it close to my heart like the locket you gave me that day
And I shall sing the songs in happiness, not vain
I shall dance the way we used to without feeling any heartbreak
And once again, no more will I feel any pain to you
