LUKE
I was reluctant to meet Jenna at the cheerleader practice, but I wanted to know what she knew about Calla.
I got there early so nobody was there but the two of us.
Jenna was wearing her black and yellow team uniform. She motioned for me to sit next to her on a bench at the sidelines of our school's well kept soccer field.
"Where did you meet Calla?" I asked her. I was in a hurry to get home before dark. After Officer Jack's warning, I decided it was better to be safe than sorry.
"I didn't even know her name was Calla," Jenna explained.
"I didn't stay at the party all night, you were right about that. I went to look for that–"
She paused when she noticed I was frowning at her, and she changed her tone."I went looking for Vixen," she continued in a less harsh voice. "But then the girl, Calla, she told me Vixen had a hideout. She gave me an address," she showed me the address on her phone.
"The police say she directed you to the same place."
"Yeah it's the same place, same girl," I confirmed. "She said she didn't set us up, Lynn and I already went to talk to her.""So she doesn't know anything?" Jenna asked.
"Nope. She's weird and antisocial, but I don't think she has a reason to hurt Vixen."
"Well I was just hoping …" she began."Look Jenna, don't get involved," I firmly warned her, "People get killed trying to find The Phantom."
"Okay, I won't press any further," she said in defeat.
The other girls from the team started to arrive.
"I have to leave," I told Jenna as I stood up from the bench.
"Luke?" Jenna called me. "Are still you mad at me?""I was never mad at you," I said simply. I turned around and started walking to my car, leaving her sitting on the bench.
I drove down the street admiring the pink and orange sunset in my car. I saw some extra cars parked in our driveway before I got to my house. I guessed it was my parents' car. They were back from their vacation.
I just hope no one told them about what went down while they were gone.
When I got closer, I realized it wasn't just their cars. Two police cars were parked behind my brother's car.
The driveway was full, so I parked my car on the side of the street and ran to the house to see what was going on.The moment I stepped in I knew something was very wrong.
I heard a shattering noise and a couple of gunshots from the backyard. I was about to run to the noise when someone yanked me back by the arm. I tried to yell, but the person pressed his hand over my mouth.
I kept struggling to free myself. Then the person turned me to face him.I stopped struggling.
"Luke, you have to be quiet," the nan said in a hushed voice, "I'm letting go now."
He slowly removed his hands and let go of my arm. I scanned our ransacked house.I took some time to catch my breath and then I asked, "What happened, Dad?"

CALLA
I've been nervous all day. After what Lynn said, I've been expecting a visit from the police. But no one's showed up.
Maybe they have better things to do.Just in case, I got my stuff ready.
I had a fake ID that said I was eighteen. That way they wouldn't dig deeper into my private life. It wasn't that bad. I turned seventeen recently, so that meant in just one year that ID won't be fake anymore.
I made my cousin promise to be my alibi. I deleted all the surveillance footage from the weekend. I hid all my incriminating things.
