LUKE
I told the police everything. "Why didn't you state that in your first statement?" Officer Jack asked.
"Because I didn't think it was important then," I replied. "Yesterday it was about why I blamed Jenna for everything, not about what I did during the party.""Are you saying that you thought it was important to blame someone else, while you knew she didn't do it?" Officer Hunt questioned.
"No, that's not what I meant," I began.
"So then what do you mean, Mr. Vickson?" Officer Hunt interrupted,"You told us you thought Miss Jenna Byers committed the crime. It's written right here on your initial statement!" Officer Hunt exploded. "Why did you do that if you weren't planning to put all the blame on her?"
Both officers looked to me, waiting for an answer.
I had no idea what to say.
Officer Hunt cleared his throat. "Your silence speaks for itself, Luke," he said.
He made a sign with his hand and Officer Jack came to me ready to handcuff me and take me away.I felt helpless. This wasn't right. They still didn't have enough evidence to put everything on me did they?
Who am I kidding? They have enough to lock me up forever.First, I blamed Jenna for everything and got her in trouble. Then I went to a suspicious hideout and stole a camera with pictures of Vixen and other girls on it. And somehow, when Vixen came to my house my DNA got on her. And according to those cameras, I was the last person who saw her.
Everything pointed to me. But if I was going down I won't go down alone. Why should I protect anyone but myself?
"Wait," I said. The officer stopped in his tracks. "What now?" he asked impatiently.
"I have more to say."
The officers exchanged looks as I began my confession.————————————————
Last night at Luke's house.LUKE
I stood there, in the shadows of my backyard, lost in my thoughts. What if Vixen was just warning me and not threatening me? She wasn't like that, and even though she's changed ever since we broke up, I knew her well enough to say that she wouldn't make something like that up.
My thoughts were broken by the sound of someone calling me.
"Luke!" Jenna yelled. She staggered like a drunk. Well, she was drunk. She had been drinking all night.
"Who were you talking to?" She asked me in an irritated tone. "No one," I said quickly. Jenna was the last person who needed to find out Vixen was here. But my quick answer must have made her suspicious.
She narrowed her eyes. "You were here with that…that darn girl Vixen, weren't you?" she accused.
I tried to deny it. I don't even know why. It's not like I liked Jenna or something.
"No, no, I wasn't," I told her as convincingly as possible.Out of the blue, Vixen appeared.
"So this is your new girlfriend?" she said. She raised her eyebrows. "I didn't think you'd stoop so low, Luke."
Jenna balled her fists. "I knew it!" she screeched. "Why can't you just leave us alone, Vixen! You're not wanted by anyone here!" Jenna barked.
Something she said must have been funny for Vixen, because she laughed out loud."And you think Luke wants you?" she said between laughs. "Look at you; you don't have a thing on me," Vixen told her rudely. "I mean, you can't even stand on your own after one drink. Your just a wannabe, a loser, and a weakling, Jenna."
"I'm not a weakling," Jenna shot back. Vixen scoffed. "Then prove it, loser."
That last insult made Jenna lose her patience. She charged at Vixen.
Vixen didn't even flinch. She let Jenna punch her a couple of times in the gut and face."It seems I didn't hurt you enough in the parking lot the last time," Vixen seethed. In one blow, she knocked Jenna to the ground. Jenna curled in pain on the floor.
"Vixen!" I screamed. I bent to check if Jenna was okay. She was still breathing at least.
"Why did you do that?" I yelled."That," she pointed at Jenna, "was just the beginning of my revenge," She started walking away, but to my surprise, Jenna yanked on her ankle and pulled her to the ground. Vixen yelped.
Jenna got on top of Vixen, and this time she threw stronger punches to her Vixen's face. Vixen fought back, but with Jenna above her, she didn't exactly have the upper hand.
Finally Vixen managed to free herself. She knocked Jenna off her and stood up. Her hair was a mess and her nose was bleeding a little.
Jenna wasn't any better, though. She also had a heavy bleeding nose and messy hair, plus a swelling face."This is just the beginning, Jenna," Vixen growled through clenched teeth. She turned around, and this time I watched her to make sure that she leaves.
"I'll get you, Vixen Kent!" Jenna yelled at her, but she already stormed down the street and was out of sight.

Present day, the police station.
LUKE
"I had to hold her back to stop her from going after Vixen," I said to Officers Hunt and Jack. "I only let her go after Vixen was long gone, and I didn't see Jenna again until Vixen was found dead."
"And about how much time passed between the fight and the time Vixen was found dead?" Officer Hunt queried.
"About an hour and a half," I replied. I saw Officer Jack writing down what I just said.
"And are you sure no one else was there but you two and the victim?" Hunt asked.
"Yeah, I didn't see anyone else."Officer Hunt gave me a tight smile. "Good. That confession will probably keep you out of trouble for a while."
He came over and opened the table's handcuffs. I stood up and was about to leave when a questions came into my head."Why didn't they search the hideout?" I asked curiously. "There's a lot of evidence there."
Officer Hunt gave me a confused look at first, but he figured out what I meant."Oh the house you were in? Of course we searched it, boy," he answered.
"Yeah. You got us a lot of leads in from that house," Officer Jack added.
"We'll catch The Phantom, Luke. Please don't try to look for him," Officer Hunt advised, while patting me on the back.Officer Jack put a hand on my shoulder as he continued in a grave tone, "He's dangerous, Luke. Very dangerous."
He looked at me with a very serious expression. I felt like he was warning me to stay out of it for my own good. Coming from a man as bold-looking as Jack, I decided to take his advice."Okay officer, I'll lay low," I said.
"No boy you don't understand," Jack began. We left Hunt in the interrogation room and came out to the entrance area.
"I've been working this case since it started. Witnesses move away to avoid get killed by him. He can frame people to take blame for deaths he caused. He kills anyone in his way. He's a psychopath, Luke," officer Jack explained miserably.
"I know you're a good kid, so just stay away from that place. It's seems that he is already trying to frame you, and I know you didn't do it. I don't want to see you in trouble," the officer told me.
"I'll stay away, Officer Jack," I assured him. He sighed, "Okay. Now there's your brother."
I turned and saw Greg sitting in the lobby, obviously not happy to be here. I couldn't blame him, it was like two in the morning."Thanks Officer, I'll make sure he stays out of trouble," Greg told Officer Jack. "C'mon sport, let's go."
We hopped in Greg's car and went home.
