LUKE

Today was one of the best days I've had in a long time. My brother was coming home from the hospital today. The doctor said he still needed to take it easy, but knowing my brother, he'll be up and about like nothing happened.

Also, the Phantom was caught last night. The whole town was full of joy. Even the weather looked happy. The sun was shining brightly in the clear blue sky.

There was only one reason for me to be sad.
Today marked exactly on week since Vixen died. I still missed her so much. The only thing that comforted me was she finally got justice for her death and her sister's.

Lynn told me the funeral was next week, and I promised I'd be there.
There were a lot of chores to be done before my brother comes home, so I got some cleaning stuff from the kitchen and got to work.

OFFICER HUNT

I was in a good mood today. Finally I had a man behind bars for all the terrible things he has done. I felt good.

I whistled happy tunes to myself while I got ready for work. I kept whistling while I ate breakfast. I whistled all the way to the station and I was still whistling when Jack came to tell me it was time to interrogate Rick Ripley.

We went to the interrogation room. The suspect was handcuffed to the table. He was a Caucasian man, with blonde hair and a little moustache. He had a dark look on his face.
He looked just like the kind of guy who was capable of what he's been accused of.

Officer Jack put some photos on the table, pushed them to Rick and got straight to the point.

"So first of all, I want you to identify all the girls you've killed over the past six years," Jack said.

The man looked through the pictures and shook his head. "Except those Kent girls, I haven't seen any of these girls in my life," he spat.

"So you killed the Kents?" I insinuated.
"I. DIDN'T. KILL. NOBODY!" The man growled. "I'm not Rick Ripley!"

"Oh you're not?" Jack took another photo and showed it to him.
"So you're telling me that this isn't a picture of you!?" Jack barked back at him.

The man bowed his head and said, "That is my pic–"
"So you admit it now?" I asked.
"I'm not admitting anything! I'm innocent!"

"Your DNA was found on Vixen Kent's body!" I yelled at him. "Your DNA was found in my labs! You tried to destroy the evidence against you! Why would you do that if you're innocent!" I screeched.

"I didn't do anything!" he repeated.
I threw my hands in the air in frustration. I don't know how Jack managed to keep his cool.

"Okay then, where were you, last Friday night?" Jack asked calmly.
"I was at a bar with my guys," the man said sheepishly. "You can ask any of them."

"You mean we should ask your drunkard accomplices to back you up!" I burst out. "I don't think so, mister!"

"I ain't lying!" Rick snapped. "I ain't no Phantom killer! I got a little sister, I know how it feels to live fearing she won't come home again!"

"Oh!" I said with fake surprise. "Are you talking about the sister you stabbed when she was just NINE YEARS OLD! You're AFRAID the Phantom will get her!"

"I would never stab my sister!" the man protested. "Why would anyone do that?"

"Because you're are a psychopath! You're a lunatic who escaped from the mental facility you belong in!" I ranted.
