JENNA

We pulled up at Calla's house and got out of the car. We went to her doorstep and Luke rang the bell.

The same weird girl I met opened it.

"What do you want?" she asked in a harsh tone. She was wearing a T-shirt that was three sizes to big and baggy cargo pants. She had a bandana wrapped around her forehead, and her red glasses were a little crooked on her face.

Weird is an understatement for this girl.

"We just need to talk," Luke said. "It's about Vixen."
"So you and you're little friend here," she gave me a dark look, "are coming to accuse me of killing her again, huh?"

"No, that's not it," I said. "We just … need to talk."
She glared at us for a while, and she opened the door wider to let us in.
"Make it fast," she told us while we entered.

Her house really wasn't anything special. We went straight to the living room and sat down. She crossed her leg in her seat and glared at us with a frown.

"Well, first I want to say we're sorry for accused you the last time," Luke started. "We didn't mean to offend you."

She uncrossed her legs and and her face softened.
"It was pretty annoying that you and Lynn thought that way after I tried to help you. But it's forgotten now," she said in a calmer tone.

"So what do you want to talk about?" she looked straight into my eyes.
"We were hoping you could give us more info about Vixen." I said.
She didn't say anything. She just kept looking into my eyes.

"You're Jenna, right?" she asked.
I nodded.
"Good," she mumbled. "I'll be right back."

She climbed up the stairs. She came back down with a little orange diary.

"Vixen gave this to me. She wanted Luke to have it," she said. "She wrote a lot of her plans in it.
She wants you and Jenna to go to the hideout. Together."

Luke flipped through the pages. There were dozens of drafts and plans in it.

"Did she tell you that before she died?" I asked her.
"No," she replied. "She left it at my door one night with a note that said 'read'. Inside she warned me to not to talk about it ever until the day I meet you at the same time."

"But why the two of us?" Luke asked.
"The answer's in the book," she said plainly.

Luke flipped the pages till he came to a page with the heading 'To Luke And Jenna'. He read it out loud.

'To Luke and Jenna:
If you're reading this, then I guess The Phantom got me. If you're not Luke and Jenna, curse you, and stop reading.
If it is the two of you, then I need you to go to the hideout. The Phantom was there before all of you, and he hid his most incriminating evidence in his basement. The police won't check there. There is a map in my book to the evidence. I can't tell you what it is, but it's important that you find it.
Now you might be asking, why us?
You two are the only strong willed people I know apart from myself. And I know you'll make a great team.

I'm counting on you guys.
Until we meet again,

Vix.

PS: Don't ever lose this book. EVER. And if Calla managed to keep this secret for long then please thank her'.

"Your welcome, Vixen!" Calla chirped.

"So what do we do now?" Luke asked. "I mean, obviously we have to go to the hideout again, but we need a plan."
