Ten minutes before Calla's call

UNKNOWN

I was at work when my phone rang. Only one person has my number, and I had the name saved. So when the the caller ID said 'unknown', I knew trouble was on the way.

I didn't pick it until the third time it rang. "Who is it?" I asked impatiently.
"It's me," a male voice answered.

The sound of his voice made me angry.

"What do you want Rick?" I asked furiously. He laughed gently.
"I want you," he said.
"Never," I growled.

"Oh no, I don't mean it that way," he said, "I mean I want you to do something for me."
I looked around. So many people were near me, and I didn't want anyone to hear our conversation.

I left my workspace and went to the bathroom.

"I'm not doing anything for you," I stated clearly. "I'm tired of being your puppet."
Rick was quiet for a minute.
"Well I'll tell you what you have to do anyway," The Phantom continued, ignoring what I said.

"If you want the girl alive, she's in the in the forest hideout. You can go there, take the blame for Vixen's death, and leave with your life and your hands cuffed," Rick sneered.

"Or you can disobey me, and I'll blow up the girl and the officers before they can find a thing on me. And then I'll find you and Calla and kill you both."

My heart started to beat faster. "You can't kill the girl. You promised not to hurt anybody!" I roared.
"I never keep promises that are inconvenient for me. You're either my puppet or my next victim. You chose which one you want. "

"But –"
He hung up before I could say more.

I didn't need to think about it. I already knew what to do.

Present time

OFFICER JACK

We landed near in the woods ten minutes later.
"This is the closest we can land," the pilot said.

By the time we got there, the sun was already quickly setting, and our time to pay the ransom was running out.
We had to hurry.

"Just let me pay him off!" Eric Kent protested. "I'd rather lose everything I have than lose another child!"

"We understand that sir," Hunt said. "But we cannot be certain that he'll give you back your daughter after you pay him. That's why we need to locate the Phantom before the time he gave passes."

Mr. Kent threw his hands up in frustration. He kept following us into the thick forest in silence.

We started to run through the forests. "We still need to go about fifty yards more," an officer estimated.

I looked up at the sky.  The sun was going down faster, and the blue sky was turning purple and orange.
I started running faster. We needed to find then soon.

Time was running out.

ERIN

Some minutes ago, I heard a helicopter. I yelled and cried for help, but soon I couldn't hear it anymore so I gave up.

Where was The Phantom? He's left me here alone for so long.

Suddenly, I heard someone fidgeting with the door.
Who is that? The Phantom has keys, he didn't need to pick the lock.
"Maybe they've found me," I thought optimistically.
