THE PHANTOM

Everyone was perplexed. Everyone but me.

I was in the room with two girls I thought I had killed. And they both knew my face. They both knew I was here. I wanted to leave, but if I make just the slightest movement I'm sure they won't hesitate to expose me.

But how did this happen? I was very sure I killed both of them, especially Kaitlynn. She was easy, I attacked her, and she fell and hit her head. I barely did anything. I made sure I left no trace.

But then that nosy Vixen saw me leave her sister's room. And she hunted me down until she found out who exactly I was.
So I killed her too.
Only that I wasn't sure how she died since I couldn't remember it clearly.

After Vixen's explanation, it makes sense that I can't remember. It never happened.
She never died. She escaped and changed their identities.

She was Dana's cousin. I worked with Dana for months. I saw Calla a few times. How did I not notice?

Now they were both staring at me, with vengeance in their eyes.
I remembered the last words Vixen's 'ghost' told me.

Rick. The game is just starting.

TRENT

My mouth hung open in awe. Dana left her seat and joined Vixen in the aisle.

The entire courtroom went crazy. No one could believe it.
The Kent sisters weren't dead.

I wouldn't have recognized Kaitlynn if she had her name plastered on her forehead.

She had changed so much.
The Kaitlynn I knew was a free teenager with no care in the world. Always in the latest rich girl styles with long dark hair.

Dana version of Kaitlynn was so much different. She was a serious and business minded adult now. She was always in her work uniform: a buttoned shirt and a kind of awkward skirt. She had short black hair cropped just above her shoulders. And she wore no makeup, unlike the Kaitlynn I knew.

It's just so hard to believe that the girl I missed for so long was right next to me the whole time.

The judge kept banging his gavel to call for order. The noise finally went down.

What is the meaning of this? The judge shrieked. This is insanity!
No it isn't, Katy disagreed. The only insane person in all this is the Phantom.
And all that me and my sister did as Calla and Dana was to lead to this moment. When we can finally expose the true villain in this story: The Phantom.

You cannot do this! The judge proclaimed. This is against all protocol. This court must be adjourned now!"

No! Kaitlynn and Vixen said at the same time.
You can't do that! Kaitlynn cried.
And why not? The judge retorted.
I can't tell you yet, she said. First the guards at the door need to make sure no one can get out.

And why is that? The judge asked in frustration.
Just make them guard the doors! Vixen said impatiently.
The judge rolled his eyes.

The guards were given a signal, and they went to the doors of the room.
Now what is so important that we need to block the doors? The judge asked.

I would like to call on Officer Jack, Kaitlynn said.
Whatever, the judge grumbled.

Officer Jack stood up at his seat so all could see him.
"Officer Jack, Kaitlynn started, do you remember when I told you – well when Dana told you that The Phantom left town?
