THE PHANTOM

It was dark outside, and that meant my hunt for a new girl should be beginning. But because everyone was so close on my trail I had to stay indoors. I felt like I was cornered.

Why have I made so many mistakes recently? I can't even give someone a scare without incriminating myself. Now they would test the blood on the glass, and they will know I'm alive. I can't let them find that out.

I made a decision. That Trent guy needed to see I was serious about that warning.

I put on a jacket and went out to the tiny shed I had outside. The cool night breeze blew against my hair. I opened the door to the little shed.
There wasn't much in it. Just some garden tools a ladder, a wheelbarrow, and old car parts.

Everything I needed was above the shed. I liked this shed because it had a low roof. It was only about six feet tall. So I enhanced the roof and built a little hidden storage room above the ceiling, just like my old hideout.

I couldn't walk around in the hidden room here, but it was still good enough for hiding my plans and ammunition.

I locked the shed's door. I took the ladder and placed it in the middle of the room. I unscrewed the lightbulb I used to hide the latch that opens the hidden room. I pulled the latch open to reveal my personal arsenal.

I had guns knives, my disguises, and my journal with all my plans in there. I also had pictures of my next targets. And my tech gadgets like my second computer, the remote that turns off cameras, my surveillance drone, and many other things.

I came for a gun today. I was going to shoot at that moron's house and show him to fear me. I was in control.

"I am in control," I said out loud.

"Are you?"

I almost fired my gun at the sound of the voice. I turned around to see where it came from.

I balled my fists. It was Vixen's ghost.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her angrily. The last time she wrecked my living room windows. It was so expensive to fix them.

"Why do you think I'm here? You didn't listen to me."

"Why should I listen to you? You're just in my imagination."

"Do you need me to throw stuff at you again?"
I didn't say anything.

"Good. your silence is enough to answer my question. Who's in control now?"

I growled at her and she growled back at me.

"I told you not to hurt my family."

"I haven't touched any of them," I said innocently. "Both of your saintly sisters are in one piece."

"I'm not talking about them. You hurt Luke's brother.
Luke is part of my family, and you hurt Luke by hurting his brother!"

"C'mon, you're not serious. I can hurt anyone whose last name isn't Kent. Cause according to me, they are your only family."

"And who said you can choose my family members!" she bellowed. I took a step back, shocked by the loudness of her voice.

"I'm in control here, Vixen! If you do anything to me, your real family will pay this time!"

The ghost bowed her head. I almost thought I had defeated her.
"Where are you going with that gun?" she asked quietly.

"It's none of your business," I said flatly. "You may be able to throw stones, but you know you can't do anything against me in real life. You are a loser, Vixen, a loser!"
