LYNN
The Phantom theatrically clapped his hands.
"Isn't wonderful how I have all of you standing in one place?" He cackled. "You've made my job so much easier."
We were stuck in the farthest corner of the backyard, and he was standing in our way.
"Leave us alone, you monster!" my dad growled.
"Don't worry, Mr. Kent, as soon as you're all dead, I'll leave."Our guest gasped in horror.
"Don't hurt us please," my mom begged.
"Don't beg him Mom," Kaitlynn said. "Don't make him feel like he is in control.""But I am in control," The phantom argued. "I have a gun and the people who destroyed my life are standing before me, defenceless."
"All of us aren't here," Kaitlynn pointed out, "Vixen isn't here."
The Phantom's cynical grin shrunk. He scanned the backyard for my sister.
"Where are you spoiled brat?!" "Show yourself!"
He was getting agitated. In the corner of my eye, I saw Vixen standing inside. She motioned for me to read her lips.
"Lie," she said."She can't hear you," I said abruptly. The Phantom stopped raging around the backyard.
He glared at me.
"Why not?"
"She – she went to get more hot dog buns," I lied. "We ran out.""Oh really?" The Phantom asked sarcastically. "Then poor Vixen is going to come home to a party of dead people."
I heard my mom sob. My dad was standing behind us. He pulled us all into a hug.
"If you kill us, you'll go to jail for life," my dad pointed out.
Rick Ripley just rolled his eyes."C'mon Kent, I've already been there done that and I'm wearing the T-shirt!" He pointed to his orange uniform.
"You'll need to threaten me with much more than that.""How about I pay you?" my dad bargained. "Two million dollars, that's more than what you asked the first time. Just take the money and leave us and this town alone for good!"
The Phantom repeatedly clicked his tongue.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, I'm afraid it's too late for that, Mr. Kent," he said, shaking his head. "I don't want to escape anymore.
I want to get revenge on your cursed family for getting me locked up behind bars!""You only went to jail because you deserved it!" Katy spat. "You lost, Rick, why can't you just accept it?"
Kaitlynn's words only made him angrier.
"SHUT UP!" he fired a shot in the air again. I let out a tiny scream."I won't shut up!" Kaitlynn vociferated. "You can control everyone else but not me!"
"Then I'll kill you first," the Phantom growled. My parents wailed. "No please don't," my father pleaded. "We'll give you anything! Just don't hurt our daughters!"
"You don't get it, do you?" The Phantom asked.
"I take what I want. And what I want today is to see all your daughters dead. And that is what I'll get.
There is nothing you can do to change my mind."He came closer to me and grabbed my face.
"I'll make you wish you died that day I attacked you," he whispered into my ear.I yanked myself free from his grasp.
He let out a loud, evil laugh."All we have to do is wait for our dear little Vixen."

LUKE
I watched the commotion from the other side of the backyard. No one dared to move.
It was hard to believe that nice officer from the terrible night when all this began was the raging psychopath standing here.
I wouldn't have been surprised if Jack turned out like this. He was much more rude and scary the first time I met him.
"All of you, on your knees!" The Phantom ordered. He went around, taking everyone's phone and throwing then into the pool.
"I don't need those pesky cops ruining my plan," he ranted.
He came to where Jenna and I were kneeling.
"You," he snarled pointing us. "You two should be killed too. Get up!"We both got up quickly. He walked us to the corner the Kents were in, the gun pointed at our backs.
"Kneel!" he commanded, and we fell on our knees next to the Kents.
He finished seizing all the phones and came back to us. The sinister look on his face made me more scared then I already was.
"Now," he declared loudly, "who should I kill first?"

KAITLYNN
No one spoke. We kneeled on the grass in silence.
"Any recommendations?" The Phantom asked. Still, all of us kept our mouths shut.
"Okay then," he shrugged.
"I'm counting to ten, if no one chooses, I'm going to start picking at random.""Please don't do this," my mom cried.
"Ten."
This can't be happening.
I started thinking hard of a way to stop him and slow him down."Eight."
"Seven."
I couldn't think of anything. My mind was absolutely blank. I started to panic.
"Five."
"Four."
My parents hugged each other. Luke and Jenna held hands. Erin and Lynn were leaning on my shoulders.
There was nothing I could do to protect them.
This was the end."Three."
"Two."
"One."
An eerie silence fell over the backyard as the Phantom scanned through his targets to pick his first victim.
I watched as his eyes passed over Luke, Lynn, Jenna, my parents, and even me.
His cold gaze landed on Erin."No!" I shrieked.
The evil smile on his face meant that he'd made a choice.Erin screamed as he pulled her out of the group.
"Turn around and face them!" he demanded. "Look into their eyes so that they can see the look on your face when their dearest little sister dies!"Erin's gentle brown eyes were full of trepidation.
He aimed the gun at the back of her head. Tears ran down my face. "Don't kill her please," I begged, even though I knew better than anyone that it was useless.
Begging him only makes him feel more powerful.
That was just his sadistic nature."Watch, Kaitlynn," he hissed at me. "Watch while I kill everyone you love, everyone you've protected all these years. You are the reason they are dying today!" he snarled.
"Their deaths will be on your conscience FOREVER!"He cocked the gun.
"Say goodbye to your little sister, Katy."He put his hands on the trigger, and there was a loud bang.
