Orochimaru's eyes slightly widened then he turned around, he hide his smirk.
He always knew that sasuke's weak point was naruto, he wanted sasuke to stay away from naruto either, or he'd have a change of heart, but he never would have thought that there was someone who had more power over the uchiha.
He knows that the uchiha's are one hell of human beings that their love isn't comparable to anyone.
As much as they have cold demeanor, harsh attitude, real strength, yet, when it comes to love, none falls in love and can raise a war just for their partner like the uchiha's.
And for sasuke, to seek orochimaru for a mere plant...in exchange for his escort...it was two birds with one stone.
Sasuke would have given up something just for the sake of the hyuga.
Sasuke would seek revenge, but would make sure hinata is fine.
He would rip his heart apart, leaving his best friend and teammates behind, leaving the only one he wanted...just to make sure she is fine...
And just to fulfill his goal.
Sasuke made up his mind.
As for an uchiha, when he sets his mind for something, he'd do it.
Orochimaru smirked and said.
"Follow me"
Sasuke followed him silently.
Neji, sakura and naruto went off to the valley, they needed the plant...neji needed to heal hinata's eyes.
She had to see the fireworks.
This was the least thing he can do to her...to repay her gentleness, though neji was enraged, and he lashed out onto her, she still kept up with his hatred and his shitty attitude.
Hinata excused neji for everything he did to her.
It was hard to be in the branch family and suffer slavery and the seal.
But hinata knew, she'd work until neji would take over the family.
She'd change the hyuga, and neji knew it.
He saw how hard she was working towards such thing.
Neji couldn't get hold of the plant...
As kakashi and guy sensei came and they realized that the plant was taken.
Neji, sakura and naruto were scolded and headed back to konoha.
Sasuke was running, he had to get on time for hinata.
He had to give her the eye drops.
Sasuke jumped from one tree branch to another.
His eyes full of determination.
Finally, after couple of hours, sasuke reached konoha again.
He jumped on the roof top, sneaking into the hyuga's household.
Though the mansion was huge, sasuke used his sharingan to detect hinata's chakra.
He had to conceal his chakra in order not to be busted.
Sasuke started to walk through the doors, worried to be captured, but he'd reach hinata's room no matter what.
Finally, he heard a faint gentle voice singing.
Sasuke's eyes widened.
That lullaby, he knew this rhythm, the gentle voice that sang that certain lullaby, that his mother used to sing for.
Sasuke's mouth was gaped, he started walking slowly towards the voice, until he reached the room door.
He looked through the small gap of the door.
He saw hinata lulling her younger sister, straddling her between her lap.
Suddenly, she stopped singing and turned around.
Sasuke tripped.
He didn't realize he made a sound, and hinata realized it.
"Is someone's there?" Hinata's gentle voice came from across the door.
Sasuke tried to take a step back without making the wooden floor creak.
"Nii san" hinata said.
She tried to make her way through the door, making sure she won't trip.
"Neji nii san" she called again.
Sasuke placed the potion glass down the door's step, he turned and jumped.
He was scared to look back, to check upon her.
Hinata opened the door, she was stepping just few inches from the glass potion.
Suddenly, a voice came from behind her.
"Hinata sama" the butler called.
"Eh" hinata stuttered.
"Is there something the matters?" The butler asked.
"I...i thought i heard something" hinata said.
"Do you need anything hinata sama" the butler asked hinata who was trying to focus her senses to her surroundings, though her eyes were blindfolded, yet, she felt the existence.
His existence.
After a while of her trance of thoughts were snapped by the butler.
"Hinata sama" the butler said.
"Eh...no, arigato" she said and turned around after a bow.
Hinata was indeed humble and gentle.
She got inside the room again, leaving the potion behind.
The butler walked, away.
Sasuke sighed, he was going to be busted.
He threw away those messed up thoughts, and decided to go back to check if the potion was taken.
Sasuke went back but he noticed the glass potion was still at the same place.
He bent over and took it.
He decided to put it inside hinata's room.
He found her sleep and sound.
He placed the glass potion by her side.
How she was angelic while she was sleeping.
Her mouth was slightly gaped, and she was cooing like a little baby.
Her silky hair was fanned around her head.
Her bangs were to the back showing her temple.
She was indeed beautiful.
Her serenity while breathing.
A sleeping beauty.
Sasuke found himself involuntary approaching her silky hair, wanted to just touch it, pat it.
How he loved this hair.
Sasuke snapped back to reality when he heard footsteps approaching.
"Kuso" he murmured.
Sasuke had to find a way out.
He hide until the footsteps vanished.
Sasuke found his way out.
Neji entered hinata's room.
He found her sleeping.
Neji kept looking at her beautiful form.
And thats when he knew.
His feelings towards the hyuga weren't only brotherly loved.
"Gommenne hinata sama, i failed you" he murmured while caressing her cheeks.
Hinata moved to the touch.
Neji turned on his heels to walk away.
When he felt something ticklish rolling down his face.
Neji stopped and placed his thumb onto his cheeks.
He found it wet.
It was a tear.
Neji was bewildered.
Hinata whimpered.
She thought she felt someone around but she was so tired.
She went back to sleep.
Hinata was sitting on the floor.
She couldn't see the fireworks, she didn't know what sasuke had brought and neji failed to bring the plant.
Neji was behind her, watching the fireworks in silence, while hinata was only hearing the sound.
Sasuke, sakura and naruto were watching the fireworks.
Sakura clung to sasuke, who was gazing up the sky.
Sakura hugged sasuke and naruto clung to sakura.
But only one idea on sasuke's mind.
It was hyuga hinata.
Sasuke watched as the purple fireworks boomed.
"Hinata" he murmured but it wasn't audible.
