"....I'm not crying cos you left me with no warning,
I'm just crying cos I can't escape what could've been..."

"Is it true that she's pregnant?" Her angry voice asked as she barged into his office.
Muhammad stared calmly back at Ummul Khair and when Abubakar came out from the corner he'd been standing, she recoiled in shock, she hadn't seen him there. Abubakar looked from Muhammad to Ummul Khair before his lips curled up in a mocking smile.
"Look who we have here, it's the other woman." His tone was spiteful, Ummul Khair flinched at his words.
"Abu..." Muhammad started but Abubakar stopped him with a wave of hands.
"You? I thought you were a good man, what happened to you Muhammad? When you didn't like her? How you'd complain about how flirtatious she was and how it was Haram?."
Muhammad tried to speak, "I know what it might..."
"Not might anymore, it is what it seems and you don't have to lie to me because you'll just be making me distrust you the more. Ummul Khair I don't know but you? You're like my brother, I've known you for five years and in that time I've admired you, your deen and your fear of Allah but then you went and cheated on your wife!"
Muhammad bowed his head because he had no words in defence, Ummul Khair leaned on the wall and rolled her eyes at Abubakar's theatrics.
He's acting like we've committed murder.
She thought to herself, even the Qur'an had permitted marrying of more than wife, not that Ummul Khair was planning on being a second wife - never- but the fact still remained, they hadn't done anything bad, that's if you exclude the mind blowing kiss they'd shared. She turned her attention back to Abubakar whom she was sure was also a little bit jealous.
"Stop it Abubakar! You have no right standing there chiding us over what you know nothing about." She said angrily. Muhammad wasn't saying anything and that infuriated her further, he was just sitting there with his head bowed like he was in his father's presence.
"Oh I know a whole lot..."
"No you don't! So shut the fuck up!" She and Abubakar glared at each other, each brimming with anger.
"I know how shamelessly you throw yourself at a married man, the ease with which the both of you communicate and how you both get handsy in each other's presence even though you're both supposed to be Muslims."
Ummul Khair scoffed, "we're Muslims and so what? We're humans and we have desires but accept our apologies angel Abubakar for acting on feelings that we have no control over!" She snapped at him.
"Please there's absolutely no need for this." Muhammad tried to intervene but his quiet voice got drowned by Abubakar's sudden laughter.
"You really are shameless and I have no idea why I'd ever been attracted to you," Ummul Khair smirked at that.
Abubakar continued, "not only are you shameless, you're pathetic and I pity you because Muhammad will never leave Amirah for you and neither will he take a second wife so whatever he has with you is temporary and even you know how crazy he is over his wife."
Ummul Khair stared calmly at him. "That's none of your business, what goes on between I and Muhammad is absolutely no concern of yours so go find something else to do and stop sticking your nose where it doesn't belong!"
