"...I've been on my own for long enough
Maybe you can show me how to love, maybe..."The Weeknd--- Blinding Lights
•••• •••• •••• ••••Muhammad was in deep thought as he went about his rounds, Ummul Khair was with him and she noticed how distant he seemed. She'd tried cheering him and getting him into a conversation but he'd either given her one word reply or dutifully snubbed her.
Unable to hold it in anymore, she finally asked, "what's wrong with you?"
Without glancing at her as he scribbled on his pad, Muhammad asked, "how?"
Ummul Khair huffed in annoyance. "You know how. You're grumpy and quiet and you have that look on your face."
"What look?" He asked looking up at her questioningly.
"I hate the world and everyone in it kind of look."
"Very funny." He grumbled and began to walk away from her but she quickly caught up with him.
"Is it your wife again?"
"No."
"Your wife it is then. Tell me, what'd she do this time? That she hasn't done before of course."
He murmured something inaudible as he increased his strides.
"What was that?" Ummul Khair asked practically running to match his stride.
He paused and held her by the shoulder. "I appreciate your concern but it's none of your business, that was what I said." And he continued on his way back to his office leaving her staring behind him.
She was tired of chasing him around, he was too stubborn and too in love with his stupid wife.
"I wouldn't be interested in him if she even cares about him." Ummul Khair murmured with a roll of eyes. She cursed fate for letting Amirah and Muhammad cross paths, no one deserved to suffer in love.
Love was meant to make your smile broader, make your days brighter and make you generally happier not make you suffer as Muhammad was. She promised she'll get him for herself and show him what he was missing by being with that woman, it was a promise!•••• •••• •••• ••••
"The best husband in the world coming through with pasta, chicken wings and ice cream." Muhammad announced stepping into Amirah's room. Her room was how he'd seen it this morning and if not for the fact that she'd changed out of her pyjamas from earlier into a blue one, he'd have said she'd not left this bed today.
His smile dropped a little as she didn't even turn to acknowledge his presence, she was staring up at the ceiling absentmindedly. Muhammad dropped the package on the table and climbed on her bed next to her.
"Hey." He said softly and she flinched before turning to stare at him wide eyed.
"When did you get here?" She asked confusion written all over her face.
He smiled sheepishly. "You were thinking of me so what choice did I have than to appear by your side, that's among one of my qualities that makes me the best husband alive."
She rolled her eyes and then turned away from him murmuring to herself about his self appreciating ass.
"Day four of not going out of your room, how does it feel?"
"Leave me alone." She grumbled.
"And I'm guessing you didn't go for your session today, right?"
