Rex groaned lightly, his senses slowly returning to him, “Rexy, you need to get up” Ahsoka’s voice drifted to him. “five more minutes” he groaned before pulling a pillow closer to his body. He heard giggling not quite understanding what was going on, as he opened his eyes he saw that the pillow was in fact Ahsoka who had minutes before been poking his good shoulder. “rise and shine captain” Rex couldn’t help the smile that drifted to his face as he cuddled his little Jedi, ”good morning Cyare,” Rex retorted before trying to kiss her forehead, Ahsoka simply slipped out of his arms and off the bed as if she had no wounds or pain whatsoever.

               Rex gently moved his body, testing for any sharp spikes of pain but none came, instead he got out of bed. His eyes finally caught up to the rest of him as he saw for the first time they were not in his room aboard the ship. Instead they were in a strange house, walking out of the room he realized it was a small hut on a strange island, “AHSOKA!!!” he yelled more than a little petrified. He heard giggling that was unmistakably his Jedi, launching into a sprint he followed the sound, it seemed to come from a large hole in the ground that dropped into an underwater cavern filled with water. “Ahsoka?” he asked slightly scared of the hole as it seemed to start growing by the second, Rex scrambled to move fast enough to get away. It was seconds away from getting him when he felt a hand grab him and pull him to safety.

               Rex turned to look at the stranger, when his eyes caught sight of the person he almost had a heart attack. There standing before him was general Yoda, Rex could feel the anxiety in his body skyrocket. “sensed trouble, I did. Much explaining the young clone, you have” Master Yoda was firm but gentle with his voice as he turned around and began to walk up a path Rex had not seen before. Rex was still in slight shock before realizing that the Jedi grand master wanted him to follow, scrambling to catch up to the small green man.

               “strong with the force, you are. Yes????” the Jedi asked as they walked “I’m just a clone sir, clones are dispensable and simple life forms' ' Rex stated wincing slightly remembering Krell’s voice as he said that. Yoda smiled before poking the clones leg, “why do you wear jedi robes if that was true? Yes, hmmm.” Rex looked down for the first time, he was indeed wearing traditional white and cream jedi robes, “i…..i don’t know sir” replied Rex as he nervously fiddled the hems of his sleeves ''An anomaly you are. Before now I sensed nothing that could threaten the Jedi. Darkness seeping into both the Jedi temple and the senate but now I can feel.. Yes, hrrrm.” Replied the Master Jedi who led Rex to a small clearing that was situated on a cliff looking over the ocean, and for the first time Rex saw that the land was an island.

               “Where are we?” asked Rex to the green man who was now sitting down facing the clone. “Rest, Rest, yes?” Said Yoda as he waved his hands to an empty spot in front of him. Rex slowly sat down in front of the Jedi mimicking the pose he saw. “what am I doing here? Where is Ahsoka? Why did that hole try to eat me?”

               Yoda chuckled before answering “safe, Padawan Tano is. In danger, you are”, Rex felt his blood run cold for a second before looking around, his eyes scanned the mountain just to the left of him before he saw it. A giant tree that was wrapped around an ancient looking building, it looked thousands of years old, “what is that?” asked Rex pointing to the building. Yoda chuckled “first jedi temple, that is. “Place for jedi, this island is” “but I’m not a Jedi” replied Rex, Yoda shook his head slowly “padawan tano, you consider as Jedi. Yes?” “Yes but she is different” replied Rex as he thought about the plucky jedi.

               “The force choses the jedi. A saying no one else has.” Yoda replied as he lifted a small rock, moving it into Rex’s hand. “how did I get here?” Rex looked so confused at the old master, “Really here you are not. You were in great danger the force could sense. You are here to recover so it brought.. Yes, hrrrm.” Rex was trying his very best to understand what was going on, “I am a clone not a Jedi” master Yoda poked him with his walking stick, “ow” rex excambed surprised. “Both you are, yes?”.

               Rex shook his head trying to clear his thoughts, “how do I help Ahsoka?” “fighting her own battle, she is. Help her, you cannot” Yoda answered shaking his head. “why? Because of attachments? because she is a padawan?” Rex could feel his blood boil at the thought of the little green creature insulting her, Yoda shook his head before motioning for him to be silent. “hold the dark side. Forgotten have we the strength of attachments” Rex shut up, stunned that the master jedi had admitted he was wrong.

               “to bring back the Padawan, awaken the force inside. Call her back, you must” “I thought you said we couldn’t help her” asked Rex confused “help her we cannot. Call out to her we can” replied the master closing his eyes slightly annoyed “what do I do?” asked Rex his softer voice now. “close your eyes ,you must. Flow through everything does the force” rex did as the Jedi told him.

               He could feel nothing at first, a couple of minutes trickled by before he felt it. It was the same feeling as when Ahsoka was on his back while he did pushups, he could feel something else as well many things. Moving all around him, and around the Master Jedi. “Good, Good’’ replied the Jedi as he could feel the clone's mind open to the new world of the force. Rex could feel something else, like it was a piece of himself but it felt so far away. “what is that?” Rex’s voice was full of confusion as he tried to focus on the piece. Yoda chuckled at the Clones confusion, “Attachment, is the feeling you have. Showing you the force is, where the padawan is drifting” replied Yoda as he watched the young Clone try to understand “what do I have to do to bring her back” asked Rex ''find the edges, you must. Bind them to yours, you must'' replied Yoda closing his eyes preparing to help the young clone.

               Rex tried his best to grab it, it took some time but he finally was able to see the strings of light that was Ahsoka’s lifeforce, it was bright and powerful. Just like the woman it belonged to, but there was something else there as well, it was like a small animal floating around it. “I see it but I can't grab it, it's like it's being guarded or something” “ally that is, ask for help from it you must” replied Yoda as he reached out to help the young clone.

               Rex tried again feeling the aid of the Master backing him as he reached out to Ahsoka’s tether. He had just approached it when he felt the animal again, this time instead of trying to ram past it he tried to show it his memories of himself and Ahsoka.

Rex could feel the animal as it tested him.

               Trying to judge if he was worthy.
