Two Worlds, One Heart (Rexsoka)

Back to work part 2

As skywalkers personal ship docked in the cruiser Rex put on the last piece of armor. "Oh and Rex, I'm sorry" said Heavy as he handed Rex the helmet. Rex looked at his brother confused not quite understanding why, but before he could ask why he had said that Heavy ran out the door of the ship and into the sea of clones.

Rex shrugged figuring it wasn't something to bad and walked to the 501st for to give the mission briefing.

"All right troopers, this is going to be a three month invasion of Ryloth, we will be aiding the people and trying to help them keep a perimeter. Crusher squadron will take landing site Alpha while Zimmer squadron will take landing site Hotel. This is so we can perform a flank to the rebels of Ryloth. If all goes well we will have taken down at least two battalions and gotten the rebels both supplies and a strong front. Be prepared to leave at 1900 hours. Any questions?" Rex kept his tone calm and authoritative but when he dismissed his troops he swore he heard muttering.

It wasn't till he got to the showers after being in the gym for two hours training and becoming very irritated with the amount of muttering that was going on that he pulled two troopers to the side and demanded to know what was going on.

Buzz and Flint looked at each other and gulped before opening their mouths.

"Well commander, there's a sorta rumor going around that you where sleeping with the late commander and that after she was executed you sorta went off the deep end" said Flint  dumber of the two from as far Rex could tell.

"Define deep end? And who told you this?" Rex asked his voice becoming dangerous. Buzz looked at Rex then at Flint willing Flint not to say anything but it was no use.

"Rumor was you disappeared for a week and where at every bar on the bad side of curossaunt drinking with bounty hunters, some people thought you were not coming back." supplied the scared shiney. who gulped before continuing while pointing at his exposed chest "there are also other rumors that you where um........sleeping with uh" Rex held up a hand to stop him. "thank you i get it. 

slightly discussed by that piece of information he asked again "who. Was. The. Person!"

"Commander Fox sir" said Buzz scratching his neck embarrassed.

Rex could feel his rage blooming in his chest. "Commander Fox is not to be trusted by any members of the 501st" he replied before dismissing them.

Once they left he decided to take a shower, hoping the hot water would calm him down. He washed his hair, which had grown out a bit but still in regulations, remembering how his scalp felt when she combed her hands through it. He shivered at the thought of her soft lips on his, wanting nothing more than to kiss her at this moment.

He sighed before finishing his shower, hoping that the next three months sped by so he could have his Cyare back in his arms. He put on his blackies and armor before going back to his room to grab a data stick, once there he had to take a second to look around to find it. As he did he noticed a familiar shirt on his bed, he reached for it and sniffed it to see if it was clean.

What he found instead was Ahsoka's sent riddling the shirt, he closed his eyes breathing it in deeply before grabbing his bag by the door and putting it in. Least if he could not hold her he had something to remind himself of her, especially since sleeping on his own now will be harder than ever. He straightened up and grabbed not only the data stick needed for the mission but also the one that Kix had given him on Togruta species, he blushed slightly trying to resist thinking of her warm body next to his as she slept peacefully with his arms pulling her to him.

"This is definitely going to be a long three months......" He said to himself before leaving for the battle ahead.
