Barris felt such pain in her skull as she woke up, still stuck in her own mind she could feel the Sith ripping her mind slowly.

"If you wish to be so difficult I will have to subdue you another way" the Sith's words rang into her head painfully. Barris tried her best to remain calm as her heartbeat in her ears with fear.

Then it stopped.

Barris felt soft covers and fabric all around her, she was in bed, her body full of exhaustion. Just as she relaxed a little she felt something in the bed move. Her hand automatically reached out to catch whatever it was but was met with warm skin. Her body stilled as she opened her eyes.

Cody was staring at her smiling, Barris couldn't help but smile. The war felt like a dream, so long ago and so far away. "did I wake you up honey" he asked as he bent over and kissed her forehead. "you had to introduce me to sleeping in on our honeymoon didn't you" she muttered as she felt drowsy again. She watched as he bent over and kissed her, it was sweet and calm, he tasted like mint. Same as he tasted the day they kissed in his barracks. "you know the kids are going to tackle you the moment they figure out you are away" she mumbled as they broke apart.

She said it with out thinking, as if it had always been a fact. Before she could question it further two children barged into the room and on to their bed. One child was a girl and about six inches taller than her brother, with light green skin, soft blue eyes and jet-black hair in a night dress. The other child wore yellow pajamas and had identical colored hair to his sister but his eyes where purple. "Fariha, Ben, you both know not to barge into rooms with out knocking" Barris said without thinking again.

She shook her head trying to clear the fog that was filling it, something wasn't right. She felt small bodies cuddling up to her, but there was no warmth, they felt hollow. Cody on the other hand felt warm as she layed in his arms with the two children. "Mommy" the small girl said to her, Barris looked at the girl who was a smaller version of her with elements of Cody's physiology mixed in. "yes sweetie" Barris replied as she tucked a lose strand of black hair behind her daughter ear, "can we play in the fields today after saber practice?" she small girl said. Barris was confused, what fields?

Then she noticed a window overlooking a small village, the room itself was small with photos of her and cody all around the room. Barris took a breath before speaking "sure sweetie once your training is over". Cody laughed before picking up his son in a piggyback ride, "ok im up im up, lets wake up Mommy" Cody said happily before turning to Barris and started to tickle her. Barris laughed out as not only her husband started tickling her but her children as well. "baby stop" she giggled out.

'baby? Where did that come from?' she thought confused just as Cody descended upon her lips kissing her deeply and making her mind calm. "ewwwww mommy and daddy are kissing" yelled Fariha as Ben said "yuck", Cody broke the kiss before turning to his daughter laughing as Barris said "you will like kissing boys one day Fariha", Cody's face soured before he mumbled "not on my watch". Barris laughed as she slapped his chest gently before kissing him again and breaking him from his mood. "that's not playing fair" he mumbled smiling against her lips as his son began to climb on top of him, "Daddy, Daddy, I wanna kiss mommy" Ben said happily, Barris giggled as Cody pulled his son off his back and Barris kissed his cheek.

Barris smiled as her son hugged her then his father who picked him up and got out of bed, "wait daddy I want a piggy back ride too" said Fariha. Cody laughed and picked up his daughter with his free arm and winked at Barris who blushed before he left the room. Barris smiled as she got out of bed and looked down, she wore a shirt with Cody's squads logo and numbers on it with shorts. Her head throbbed painfully then causing her to sit back down on the bed.

"this isn't right" she mumbled to herself, "im a jedi, Jedi don't get these kinds of happy endings, this isn't.....right". her head throbbed more painfully before her surroundings changed again. She was down stairs with Cody and the small children, they where eating pancakes and eggs at the table while she stood at the bottom of the stairs.

"hey honey what's wrong?" Cody asked as he got up and walked over to her. Barris backed away from him, "no, your not real" she mumbled, Cody looked hurt as he tried to reach for her again "hey I am real, this is real ok? These are our children" he sounded mad as he talked to her, almost yelling. This only confirmed that it wasn't real, she shook her head at him "no, your not my Cody, my Cody never yelled at me, he is sweet and kind even when he's had a bad day. I might not have a future with him but I know you. arnt. real!!" she yelled back.

Cody slowly disappeared, then the children, then the surroundings.

Barris looked around wildly her heart breaking slightly, she was right but that's the part that hurt the most.

"YOU MAY BE SMART ENOUGH TO FIGURE THAT ILLUSION OUT BUT YOU WILL NEVER BE FREE" the Sith was pissed but Barris was as well.

"no, ill never give up, ill fight you harder and harder until I am dead" she screamed out to the darkness that surrounded her. She felt confident in her statement, full of hope of what could be, before concentrating on the darkness and willing it to dissipate.
