Two Worlds, One Heart (Rexsoka)

Ok so this part is a little dark but I needed it to support the story line so please don't be too mad.

"Ahsoka Tano you are sentenced to death" 

"Ahsoka Tano you are sentenced to death"

Those words echoed in Rex's head as he took a swig of the rather large bottle of alcohol that was almost out. He looked out over the night sky of curossaunt as he sat on the edge of the highest base tower, his face was tear streaked as he had for the first time in his life he cried at the thought of losing his wife. He finished off the bottle before chucking it off the roof before reaching behind him for a duplicate bottle and opening it up and taking a long drink. 

"Rex?" Asked Echo who had just crawled out of the hatch in the roof of the tower. "Go. Away" replied Rex as he took another drink "I can't do that commander, your throwing dangerous debris off the roof and onto your brothers below, your lucky it's me and not Fox that came up to beat you up he would have won with you being drinking an all" replied Echo half terrified at his brothers non responsible behavior. Then Rex did something truly nerve wracking.

He laughed.

Rex laughed. 

It was not his usual happy laugh or his sarcastic one, this one scared Echo. It scared Echo even more when Rex stood up swaying slightly. "COMMANDER!! GET DOWN!!" yelled Echo trying to pull Rex away from the edge. "Get off" replied Rex as he swayed slightly "I don't want you up here, go back to bed" 

"No way sir, you can't be up here. It's not safe in your state" replied Echo. Rex laughed again "Why the hell do you think I'm up here? They had a trial without her there, they convicted her without her there, they didn't even look at other suspects, they looked at one tip, let the one man who is the most prejudice towards her lead the investigation and now……….now I'm going to lose the one woman I love to this crap. " Rex paused only to take a drink before continuing "if this is the world I am to die for, why the hell should I wait for a clankers to kill me off, I'd rather be waiting in the afterlife for her than have her spend a moment alone" 

Rex looked out on the horizon before smiling slightly crazed "you know when we got married I thought it would be perfect, we would fight the war and win, and then settle down and have some kids. She would have made the best mother."  He took another long drink from the bottle before throwing it over the edge. "Now our future is like that bottle………... broken" he finished.

Echo looked at him sadly as he watched his older brother loom closer and closer to the edge. "Don't you want to see her at least once more" asked Echo "she's terrified, Fox has already tried to get his revenge for what you did to him, if skywalker had not of walked in she would have been found tomorrow morning dead from internal bleeding" Rex finally got off the ledge long enough to grab his brothers collar "what did that little bandtha do to my wife" asked Rex seething with rage.

Even though Rex was drunk he was still sober enough to actually kill someone. Echo took his opening and stuck sedative into Rex who looked at Echo pissed "You little…" Echo caught Rex right as he passed out. "Sorry Vod, but we need you alive, and your wife would have killed me" replied Echo as he dragging him back inside.
