"It's really nice to meet you," I smiled slightly, standing awkwardly across from 5 Seconds Of Summer at a launch for a music magazine or something I'd been told that I needed to go to "make contacts" or just to be seen. In all fairness the magazine did have a spread on me because apparently I was 'up and coming' in the music industry. Either way it was still quite nice being at the party because then I was forced to leave my apartment and make an effort to make myself look okay.
"We're amazed your a real person," Luke said clearly not processing how it sounded.
"Erm did you think I was imaginary?" I raised an eyebrow letting out a small laugh.
"No I think what he means is that we may have watched your YouTube videos before you were signed and then liked your music," Ashton explained making me nod smiling a tiny bit because I felt a bit proud that people like 5 Seconds Of Summer knew who I was for my music and for me.
"I would say same but I think it would be creepy because I'm like a bit older then you are," I blurted out without really thinking about what I said until I noticed them either laugh or try hard not to laugh making me realise how weird what I'd said sounded. "That sounds even weirder, I'm sorry I'm bit nervous about tonight." I said again not realising how it sounded to them, they probably thought I was nervous about meeting them, especial from their expressions. "My ex-boyfriend might be here." I sighed again revealing a bit too much to people I'd just met.
"So you're not a crazy stalker," Michael smirked at me.
"Sadly not," I sighed shaking my head also smiling a tiny bit. "I mean not a crazy stalker just a stalker." I shrugged hoping they understood that I was joking which clearly they did because Michael just laughed.
"Who's your ex-boyfriend?" Calum asked taking my slightly by surprise.
"Personal much," Ashton laughed at me clearly shocked as well before Luke whispered something to Calum, probably James's name because he after all was the person I was petrified of seeing just because of the sheer awkwardness it would create.
"We really liked Wonderland though," Michael cut the awkwardness that had been created by the mention of James.
"Thanks," I smiled looking down at my feet. "I'd try and play it cool and say that I've only ever listened to a few songs of yours but I sort of had your whole album in my car and loved it." I laughed slightly looking back up at them.
"Totally playing it cool," Luke laughed at me.
"Ice cool," I shrugged smirking.
"You do realise that we thought you were this really cool British girl who was unapproachable," Ashton told me and I laughed slightly.
"Not a slightly awkward, kind of short British girl that speaks without thinking?" I asked them still smiling genuinely for once.
"You should make that the title of your next album," Calum sighed.
"Awh shame it's the title my next single actually," I shrugged before scanning the room quickly to try and put my mind at rest because I was slightly panicked that James was here.
"Who you looking for?" Luke interrupted my thoughts.
"No one," I shook my head giving up my search.
"Were you just so bored with us already?" Michael asked making me laugh a tiny bit looking back at them.
"Yes," I nodded keeping a straight face for once.
Actually the party wasn't so bad so far. 5 Seconds Of Summer were surprisingly nice and not total idiots like I was slightly worried about and from what I could tell they didn't think I was a total weirdo, total being the key word. What was even better was that from what I could see there wasn't a sign of any Vamps member at the party which was slightly odd because I'd been warned about the possibility of them being here from my manager. My manager didn't know why I needed warning of it but I'd told him I did so I could hide and avoid James as much as possibly or at least prepare myself for the awkwardness.
