Unexpected Something

No issues!

"How is there no issue, Devian, he's your grandpa!" Arien glared at him.

"It's between me and him, nothing about you." Devian replied and looked away.

Devian kept his cold look and said nothing further. Arien also kept quiet.

"We're back." They entered the mansion intending not to make them aware of their indifferent conversation just now.

"How was your day, child?" Grandma asked both of them.

"It was nice Grandma!" Replied Arien.

Such a small conversation yet Devian felt happy with the way Arien treated his family with full affection.

But what he just did? She treats his family as her own and he said that!

"It is already the time." Roger sneered. "You'll see a chance and meet her. Remember, she should be alone."

The man didn't reply.

"You should do it well or else... You know the consequences." Roger reminded.

The man replied nothing again, but a cold light flashed in his eyes. "This will be the time" he thought in his heart.

The day went by and it was weekend. Even now grandpa didn't show up in Lyle mansion.

As asked by old Mrs Lyle, no one asked him back. According to her he would surely come back from the old Ace mansion after he's fed up alone.

Arien was with Jane and Ashley chatting in the Rosewood café.

"So you're with Mr Mason?" Arien asked.

Jane's face turned red only with his name and she lightly replied,"yes".

"Nice! He's a good man!" Arien had seen his performance in the office and also the way he treated Jane there.

There was no doubt he would keep her happy.

Arien's phone rang, "Hello!" She answered.

"Miss Jenner, I wanted to have a word with you about your parents." The person on the other end said.

"What?" Arien exclaimed.

"What happened Arien?" Ashley asked confused.

"Umm.. nothing, I have something to do... I'll leave now... See you later Ash Jane---"

"???" Jane and Ashley were left back and Arien rushed out of the café.

"Where?" She asked.

The person gave her the address of a nearby restaurant and thinking for a while Arien concluded that, with so many people around, the person wouldn't try to harm her.

"If it is about my parents, I shouldn't disturb Devian." Arien started walking.

After reaching to the assigned restaurant, she looked around but there was no trace of any person approaching.

After a couple of minutes, a man came to her.

It was Roger's assistant, "This way Miss Jenner." He said. "Boss it waiting for you."

Arien followed him putting her guards up.

They reached a private room inside the hotel.

"This boss is definitely not a common man if he could afford a private room in this kind of high class restaurant." Arien thought.

The assistant opened the door. "Boss would like to meet you personally, miss Jenner" and he gestured her to go inside.

Arien walked into the room.

Her eyes popped out with surprise. The man standing in front of her was...

"Miss Jenner, you might haven't recognized me?" The man spoke.

"Uhh... Actually I..." Arien was saying something but the man interrupted her.

"It's okay. I didn't expect you to recognize me as well." He added.

"But I..." Arien still wanted to say something.

The man still didn't let her speak. "I understand" he said intruding her again.

"What do you want?" Arien asked.

"Good. As you wish, I would directly come to the point." The man said.

"Speak." Arien commanded.

"Just as water flows downward, it's human nature to get more. They are greedy by nature." The man stated.

"I asked what you wanted to say?" Arien repeated her question.

"Hmm..." the man let out a smile.

"What!" Arien exclaimed. "You said you wanted to say something about my parents."

"And what profit will I gain from it?" He said

"Say your cost" Arien asked

"Cost?" He paused for a while and then continued. "I want the Jenner company."

"What!" So it was true what Devian said about Robert Jenner.

How can she not recognize her dearest uncle. When she entered and saw the man in front of her, she was about to hug her uncle tight. But... He was actually behind all this.

Only after money, he did plan the fire and everything thing in their house.

He was behind the death of her parents. Her most beloved uncle was behind her parents execution.

Arien's eyes filled with tears when she spoke, "How can you do that?" Her words were trembling.

Robert was speechless. How could he really do that?

Arien was like her own child, even more than that for him. But today it was because he had to save her life.

Roger would have been keeping eye on them. Even if he wanted, he can't tell the truth to her.

"This is how life goes,  Arien." He said. Robert's had no the idea that Arien has recognized her so he kept his calm.

But the next moment he was stunned. "Uncle, you were not like this. Tell me what happened after the car accident."

She was crying bitterly unable to speak properly. Her words sounded so pitiful.

"I..." Robert was out of words.

How would he tell her the truth with the threat there. What if Roger harms her?

"Uncle" Arien held his hand. "Tell me why are you doing this?" But her tone was so slow that it wasn't audible to Roger in the video.

The moment he opened his mouth the door of the private room opened and there entered two men.

Robert was scared out of his wits, not for himself but for Arien.

He had already suffered a lot these few months and would rather prefer to die than going back to that hell.

Robert would only be blaming himself if anything happens to her.

"Miss Jenner, we'll talk later." Saying that Robert got up and intended to leave but he was stopped by the two men.

"You haven't completed your work." One of the man whispered in his ears.

"I'll do it next time" Robert said.

"Boss has not allowed you to leave. Do it." The other man spoke and took out a folder.
