(The wicked witch has made a comeback)
Christmas eve 2028, how the time flew.
We sit on the dining table building our first ever ginger bread house with Harry. It's about midday and the tree is set up and everything is ready to have family over tomorrow. It's going to be a big day since August's Mum and mine are meeting for the first time. Then when everyone goes away I'm going up to see Anne and Gemma with Harry.
Once Gus had got the frame up and it was decently stable it was time to decorate a side each. I got the front, so I put a piece of licorice as the door and cut up a long lolly for the window frame. It looks a little messy, but I really don't mind.
I look up to see Harry placing round lollies on the roof with little a 'boop' with each one he places. He's only done the roof, placing each one with such precise you would think it's a competition. Why is everything a contest for him? Fucking Aquarius.
I smile at his little noises and peer over to see what Delilah is doing with August help she's stuck gummy bears all down across the bottom of the wall and a piece of chocolate for the window. I add more little lollies, long pretzels to make the fence and jelly beans on the roof.
Once everyone is finished their sides we take a photo, one to remember and show Delilah when she's older.
"Mine looks the best" Harry says triumphantly and I sigh
"It's not a competition, H" I tell him, the grin doesn't leave his face though.
"No, it was a race and I finished first" August joins in and I shake my head at both of them.
"Kids, absolute man children" I laugh at them and make my way into the lounge room, satisfied with our hour couple of hours work.
We end up watching Christmas movies with Delilah, before her and August go to bed. We lay huddled under a blanket on the couch, my knees in his lap and head on his shoulder watching the lights on the tree twinkle and snow pile up on the window.
It's cold, but we have the heater on an massive fluffy blanket covering us that I don't even feel it. Mix that with the warmth in my heart from being so close to him and feeling safe, it's really nice.
"Don't go to sleep" He jokes, he's leaning back with the legs of the couch up, eyes closed and one arm around me.
"I won't" I mumble, not entirely believing that statement
I'm basically curled in a ball next to him, but I know he doesn't mind. If August came down stairs right now he wouldn't even blink.
This is home.
"don't go to sleep" I repeat what he told me when he doesn't say anything for a while
"I'm awake" He says, his voice is low and tired
"We should go to bed" I go to move but his arm tightens around me, pulling me back
"Harry, I'm going to bed" I try to move and he does the same thing
"Sleep here" He suggests and I sigh deeply
"OK" I agree, curling myself back up next to him and closing my eyes, too tired to fight him.
It doesn't take long for him to go to sleep and I listen to the wind and his breathing.
I close my eyes and think about tomorrow. I had envisioned this day to be amazing. Delilah, August, Harry and a baby on the way. By next Christmas I had planned for there to be another baby.
