Yu-Yu had always wondered about one certain question, ever since he joined the company and NCT. He kept asking Sooman the question, but the older man wouldn't quite give him an answer. He would always say to the young child, "I'll explain to you when you get older."
Yu-Yu made a promise with himself that he would come back and ask Sooman when he turns fifteen. The boy genuinely wanted to know why he was selected as a trainee and a member of NCT. This question had been bothering him ever since he could remember. He even tried to ask the members, but they would all say the same phrase as Sooman.
There would be times where he would tried to get an answer when the members were drinking ''apple juice'' but they knew better than to tell Yu-Yu the answer that he wanted. Soon the young child would receive the answer that he's been waiting for.
Let's get back to what's happening with Yu-Yu now :)
The young child is currently at the convenience store across from the SM building buying banana milk. After spending about an hour picking out banana milks, he headed towards the SM building. He greeted the staff before heading up to the second floor.
Once the elevator dinged, he looked directly at Sooman's office. He ran his tiny ass legs towards the office.
The young child knocked on the door, before he heard a quiet "come in". Yu-Yu slowly opened the door and took a seat, nearly falling over. Sooman cleared his throat before fixing his gaze on the younger. "Did you need something kiddo?"
Yu-Yu responded, "You promised me that when I turn fifteen you'll tell me why you selected me to be a trainee, and why you placed me into a talented group such as NCT. I want answers now and I'm not gonna wait for another year to hear them. Please do tell me what I've been wanting to know for so long.
Did you feel pity for me?"Sooman looked down at Yu-Yu with a look that could almost confirm what Yu-Yu had just asked. Yu-Yu asked in a hurry tone, "It's true isn't it? You selected me out of pity. Even if I couldn't properly sing you would've still picked me, because you felt pity for me.
Guess what... if it's true then I don't want to be in a group with people who are so deserving and talented. I rather be a nobody than someone who was only selected cuz someone felt bad for them. You could've given other people a chance to debut, but you chose me because you know that I'm some orphan that you rescued."
Sooman accidentally growled causing the younger to flinch. "THAT'S ENOUGH YU-YU!" Yu-Yu at this point was beyond upset, but he calmed down and shut his mouth. "Now... kiddo listen to me. Don't even say anything until I'm done explaining myself." Yu-Yu sat back down grasping onto a nearby water bottle.
Sooman sighed while trying to figure out how he was gonna explain this all to Yu-Yu. He cleared his throat as he gathered his thoughts. "Fine... I did pity you when I selected you as a trainee, but that was only because you were so broken and lost. I swear I didn't pity you when I selected you to be in the group.
You're so talented and intelligent, which is why I selected you for NCT. If I didn't pity you then you wouldn't have even been a trainee." Yu-Yu started tearing up after hearing that Sooman practically chose him out of pity.
Yu-Yu broke down into tears of anger.
The child felt as if his heart was ripped out of his chest. "You just admitted that you've been pitying me up until you placed me into the group. Do you think it makes you seem less of a jerk? For you to say that I was broken and lost is wrong on so many levels.
What else did you expect me to be... especially at the age of two?!? You could've left me alone on the streets instead of taking me into this company. I don't need any pity especially from you.
I basically had to grow up and take care of myself.
I don't want your pity. You said that you've been pitying me due to me being broken. Do you know how that feels hearing that from someone that you thought of as family? You don't cuz you've never been in my shoes. Here's a question... why'd you choose me?""I chose you out of pity, but I swear your talents were also why I chose you." Yu-Yu snorted, "The first sentence that came out of your mouth was pity. Which tells me that you just answered the question the way I knew you were going to answer it. Thanks for pitying me for the past thirteen years.
I'm done.Sooman watched as the child walked out with tears streaming down its face. The old man started to realize that what he had been doing was hurting the younger more than he ever thought. The same day Yu-Yu went to the Han River and spent a few hours thinking over things.
The young child didn't return until the next day.
He started to put on a fake smile, until he genuinely couldn't mask how he felt. He ended up leaving SM and NCT a few months later. Yu-Yu joined a different label and cut off all ties with SM.He went on becoming a successful soloist, who sold millions of albums during his debut. Sooman later in the future regretted ever pitying the young child who once considered him a grandfather. Yu-Yu missed his old members, but he thought leaving was for the best.
THE END!!!!
{I promise I won't make any other chapters like this. Don't be mad :). I swear there's some fluff in the next few chapters. I JUST SAW THAT SOMEBODY ADDED THE BOOK TO THEIR "ANAL SECTION READING LIST" 😭. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT I CAN SEE WHEN YOU'VE ADDED A BOOK TO A CERTAIN READING LIST. XD}
