Chapter 31

Vivian woke up in the hospital later that night and flinched seeing Gothel at the end of her bed, she reached to the button to alert the nurses.

"Don't," Gothel said, "I'm not here to harm you, you don't need extra wounds," Gothel said.

"Like the one you've permanently caused in my heart," Vivian said glaring at her, "What do you want, to gloat that I might have actually needed your help?" Vivian asked.

"Doubting your choices?" Gothel asked.

"No, I'll never pick you even in death," Vivian said.

"You're strong, I like that," Gothel smirked and walked to the door as Vivian watched her leave then Gothel turned to her, "But, believe me, I'm glad you're alive I still need you," Gothel said and walked out of her room.

Vivian reached over and grabbed her phone, texting Regina and Rumpel letting them know what just happened.

Flashback

Rumpel went to a mausoleum and he used his dagger to conjure a framed photo of Belle.

"Can you hear me, Belle? It's me, I know it's only been a short time since I began my journey without you but it feels like an eternity. I received a letter from Gideon. He's doing well in his studies, our son misses you as does Vivian... She's found love and just wants you near her, to talk about stuff that she can't with me and Regina... You were the best at those talks," His eyes watered, "I miss you so much," Rumpel said.

Facilier stepped out, "That's good, quite good, let it all out. After all, there's no greater pain than being separated from true love... Especially for an immortal like you, Dark One," Facilier said.

"I don't know who you are or why you're here but I suggest you go," Rumpel said not looking at Facilier.

"The name's Facilier and I came to help. You see, anyone can come here to talk to the dead, it's hearing them that's the trick. You came to ask Belle if the girl you met, named Alice, is truly the Guardian that you seek. If you're really so interested in surrendering your power, perhaps I should take it from you instead," Facilier said holding a voodoo doll of Rumpael and a needle then jabbed the doll with the needle but nothing happened to him.

"You honestly think a pincushion is gonna work on me? Very well. Now, I get the chance to do this," Rumpel said and he began to choke him with magic and lifted him in the air, "If you truly can hear my wife, then tell me, what did she say?" Rumpel said.
