Chapter 40: Spreading fire

Whitley wakes up dizzy and exhausted. He clutched his head, groaning and not remembering what had happened. He glanced around and noticed this wasn't his teams dorm. It was white and serile and he could faintly make out a beeping sound.

Why was he here? The last thing he remembered was...

He immediately shot up. The memories came flooding back to him and he swung of the bed.

Whitley: "Y/N!"

He raced out of the room, not noticing he had ripped out an IV and was now bleeding from the arm, as he tumbled blindly into a familiar face. 

Anubis: *in surprise* "Whitley!" *hold Whitley as he struggles out of his grip*

Whitley: "Y/N! Weiss! He-" *Saffron, who was sitting nearby with Vulcan, rushed up to them to calm the boy down*

Saffron: *hugs Whitley: "Whitley, it's okay you're safe!"

Vulcan: "Easy kid...We're in a hospital."

Whitley: "Y/n! He was- it all happened so fast! I.. didn't know." *The Vulcan family gave a look a pity till Whitley looked up* "Y/n...he's still alive."

This caused their look of pity to become a look of shock. They look at each other.

Anubis: "Hang on let me get your sister."

Anubis walks over to a room to see Taiyang, Blake, and Yang sitting in melancholy silence, not looking at one another.

Anubis: "You all seen Snowflake?"

Tai: *looks over to them* "I think she went to look for Whitley?"

Blake: "Is everything alright?"

Anubis: "Her little brother woke up...he thinks Y/n is still alive.."

This surprised the three of them soon footsteps runs past him. He looks over to see Weiss walking towards the hallway.

Anubis: "Weiss!" *Weiss looks over to Anubis*

Weiss: "Anubis!" *she runs over to Anubis and hugs him she soon lets go* "Listen I think Y/n is still alive and-"

Anubis: "You too?"

Weiss: *surprised* "You saw it too?"

Anubis: "Huh...no I mean Whitley told me he think Y/n's still alive too."

Ironwood: "What is the commotion?"

They all turn their head to look over to see Ironwood, Winter, Qrow, Saffron, Whitley, Amber and Cinder.

Whitley: "Weiss!" *runs over and hugs Weiss tight which she does back* 

Weiss: *looks over to Ironwood* "General what happened?"

Ironwood: "Well Beacon was destroyed.. from the blast.. however...most of the blast didn't hit Vale thanks to your brother..."

Cinder begins to tear up, the guilt that she lost the man she fell in love with. But as she was going to say something.

Whitley/ Weiss: "I think Y/n is still alive..."

Everyone's eyes widen in confusion as they look over to the two siblings. 

Winter: "Weiss, Whitley I don't think.."

Whitley: "No I know Y/n is still alive...I saw him!"

They're eyes widen in shock as they look over to him.

Weiss: "Me too!"

Ironwood: "But that's impossible the G.M.C has the power to level a kingdom. And Y/n was in the middle of the blast no one could survive that blast."
