Xingchen fought and killed two men almost immediately. The rest got a bit surprised and some even frightened, but continued.
The swords clashed against each other and blood splattered on the wooden floor. But it wasn't Xingchen's, he was clean and looking good as ever. His white clothes pure and untouched, they were spotless.
He killed the last man and heard a yell, "Jiang Cheng is here! Get him!" He smiled at the yell and turned to Wen Chao.
"Seems like your guards are a bit...busy," he walked closer to the trembling man and pointed his sword at him.
"P-please," Wen Chao said, "l-let's talk this out."
"Talk it out?" Xingchen asked, "You destroyed Lotus Pier and killed everyone here. You destroyed Jiang Cheng's core! You killed his parents!"
"But-but it wasn't me," Wen Chao said, "p-please Jiang Xing."
Xingchen chuckled, "That's not my name, it's Xiao Xingchen." He raised his sword to strike at the man when he was kicked to the side.
He fell to the ground and looked up, it was Zhuliu, "Wen Zhuliu," he said as he stood up slowly, "we meet again." He picked up his sword and ran towards the man, he aimed at Zhuliu's neck but the man stepped to the side.
He continued striking but Zhuliu was a bit too advanced than him. They were both on a high level of skills, but Zhuliu wasn't in pain.
Xingchen's mind was clouded for the safety of all of his nephews and Xue Yang. He couldn't focus properly and was distracted, while Zhuliu had a clear mind and could think.
Zhuliu was close to hitting him but they heard a yell, "Jiang Cheng had a golden core!"
They all turned and Xingchen took this chance to kick Zhuliu. The man stumbled back and looked up with sharp eyes as Xingchen threw his sword at Zhuliu's head.
He caught the sword and threw it back. Xingchen grabbed it and said in a dangerously low voice, "You better get the fuck out of here before I let out everything on you."
Wen Chao nodded and smiled nervously, "Yes! Thank you Xiao Xingchen!"
"1," Xingchen said, "2!"
"Let's go Wen Zhuliu!" Wen Chao yelled and ran away. Zhuliu looked at Xingchen one more time before leaving with his master.
Xingchen smirked and walked behind them slowly, dragging his sword on the floor. He had a cold face on and he looked ready to kill anyone who came in his path.
He walked outside to where all of Wens ran away the moment they saw him. He smiled softly and heard footsteps running towards him, he turned around and smiled widely when he saw Jiang Cheng.
"A-Cheng, did you get a sword from one of them?" He asked.
"Yeah," Jiang Cheng raised a sword, "it's not much, but it'll do."
"Alright, well we got Lotus Pier back," Xingchen said, "now we need to rebuild it. All of it."
Jiang Cheng frowned, "How are we going to do it?"
"Easy," Xingchen said smiling comfortingly, "we're going to do it together. And we won't give up until we finished."Wei Ying was tired of everything, he and Xue Yang had been walking for a day and it seemed like the darkness was everlasting. He felt like they were walking in circles, and that they would never find a way out. That is, until Xue Yang announced something that surprised him.
"There's a cave!" The man said, "Look!" He pointed to the big rock with an opening on the front with and smiled.
"I guess we were just lucky," Wei Ying said smiling.
"Let's go," Xue Yang grabbed Wei Ying's hand and pulled him to the cave. He looked around and saw a big enough space to fit a house, "See? We might be alright here."
"Maybe," Wei Ying said looking around, "it looks bad though."
"So what? At least it's something," Xue Yang walked farther in and saw something on the floor. He walked to it and picked the object up, it was a book, an old one at that.
"What's that?" Wei Ying asked walking over.
"A really old book," Xue Yang replied, "I think it says something about Demonic Cultivation. It's old writing so I can't understand it well."
"Well open it idiot!" Wei Ying said, "Let me see what's inside!"
"Fine, fine," Xue Yang said, he opened the book and found that it was covered in dust. He brushed the dirt off and read the ink carefully, "The Official Book of Demonic Cultivation."
"Will that tell us how to manage resentful energy?" Wei Ying asked.
"I mean it might," Xue Yang turned the page and dusted it off as well, "this page explains what it is." He flipped the page, "And this one says how to use music and talismans."
"There!" Wei Ying stopped Xue Yang from the turning the pain, "Look, it says how to use music and talismans to manage resentful energy. We can use that can't we?"
"We can, but everyone will get mad at us for it," Xue Yang said.
"We can just say it's crafty tricks," Wei Ying said, brushing the topic off, "now let's read how to use talismans."
"Fine, here," Xue Yang passed the book to Wei Ying who took it curiously. He walked away and looked further into the cave, it was dark but he could still see a figure standing near him.
He took a step back, "Who are you?" He asked.
Wei Ying heard the question and turned around, he saw nothing but Xue Yang, "What are you saying? We're the only ones here."
"No, there's someone else standing in front of me," Xue Yang said, "come out! Let me see you!"
The figure stepped out, it was a corpse. The two men stepped back and Xue Yang took the book. He flipped through the pages and one of them caught his eye, he skimmed through the letters quickly then looked up at the corpse.
He took out the Yin Iron from his chest pocket and stuck it out to the monster, What do you want from us? He asked it in his mind.
I'm here to help, the corpse replied.
Xue Yang turned to Wei Ying with wide eyes, "I can talk to it."
