Chapter 10- Cave

    Wei Ying had found a cave and they were walking inside of it, it was dark and a bit cold. They had torches that lit the path as they walked down the narrow path.
    They were walking on the path when they heard a yelp, and a yell, "MianMian!" It was Zixuan. The woman had slipped and almost fallen, but Zixuan caught her arm.
Wen Chao clenched his jaw and aimed at MianMian with his whip. When he tried to hit her, Zixuan took the blow with his arm.
"Wen Chao! What are you doing?" He asked.
"What am I doing? Why are you yelling?" Wen Chao retorted, "Should the monster be disturbed, how will you take responsibility for that?" Xue Yang rolled his eyes at the man along with Wei Ying.
"You brought us here, claiming that we're going to hunt some monster. So please tell me, what on earth is this monster?" Zixuan asked, "You never informed us either."
"Inform you? How many times do I have to say this before you remember it?" Wen Chao said, "Don't get it wrong, you are nothing but my dogs." Zixuan glared at him as he continued, "I am the one who gives commands.. I don't need you to tell me what to do, only I can repress the monster."
Wei Ying shook his head and walked away to where Wangji was standing, he got close to the edge and almost fell but Jiang Cheng grabbed his arm. They heard a growl, and everyone got closer.
"There, there it is!" Wen Chao exclaimed, "Go! Get down there!"
"It seems bottomless," Wei Ying said, his eyebrows furrowing, "and we don't know what kind of monster is down there."
Wen Chao huffed and pushed the man off the edge. Wei Ying yelped as he was thrown down and Lan Zhan called out, "Wei Ying!"
Everyone's eyes were wide as they looked down to where the man was pushed down.
"I'm going down," Xue Yang said as he got ready to jump down.
"Wait!" Xingchen said grabbing the man's arm, "Didn't you bring ropes Young Master Wen?"
Wen Chao nodded and stared at the man with sickening sweet eyes, "Of course I did, you are all going down there and finding the monster."
Xingchen nodded and stretched an arm out to one of the soldiers, "Pass me one, please," he said, he was trying to not yell at them and maybe punch them.
A man threw a rope at him and Xingchen threw it down the steep edge. He put a rock over the rope on the ground and nodded, "There now we can go down." Xue Yang and Wangji were the first to go down while everyone else got the ropes.
They all climbed down and Wangji ran to Wei Ying once he got down. He helped the man stand up and Xue Yang ran to him, "Are you alright?" He asked.
"I'm fine, but did you all get kicked down too?" Wei Ying smiled.
"Shut it!" Jiang Cheng said, "We were just worried the monster ate you, it would bring shame to our clan."
Wei Ying nodded but saw Zixuan, "Setting these guys aside, you can't be afraid that I was eaten up as well, can you?"
"I would rather come down and to fight that monster, than see that mean couple insult us," he said.
"I understand," Wei Ying said nodding.
"Hey!" A voice called from the edge, "Anything unusual? Hey! Are you all dead already? How can you be as silent as the dead?"
They ignored the voice and walked further down the cave. They saw a small pond and heard the voice threaten more some more, "Listen to the echo," Wei Ying said, "we are hundreds of meters away from them."
"Something's wrong," Xingchen and Wangji said at the same time.
Wei Ying lit a talisman and threw it out into the water, there was what seemed to be rock in the middle. They heard people scrambling and turned around to see the Wen's climbing down.
Wen Chao ran to them and got to the edge of the water, "Young Master, it's a dead end," Lingjiao said.
"Nonsense," Wen Chao said, "keep searching."
"Yes!" The soldiers said and began looking around.
"Look carefully, and have someone hung and bleeding to lure that thing out," he said.
"Nonsense!" Zixuan yelled, "Luring that thing with flesh and blood means leaving us to die!"
Wen Chao and Lingjiao turned to him, "What?" The man asked, "Young Master Jin, do you want to try it yourself? To make an example for us?"
"You-!"
"Young Master!" MianMian said grabbing the man's arm.
"If I may say," Lingjiao said, "how about her?" MianMian's eyes widened in shock.
"Her?" Wen Chao asked, "Maybe a different one."
"If not her, then him," the woman pointed at Xingchen. Xue Yang stepped in front of the man and glared at her.
"We need someone else," Wen Chao said.
"Why? You feel reluctant because they are pretty?" Lingjiao asked.
"Nonsense. What am I reluctant about?" Wen Chao said turning to her, "It's your call." A group of men approached MianMian and the other went for Xingchen.
Xingchen walked to the you woman and stood next to her. Wangji walked in front of the two, next to Zixuan while Xue Yang stood next to them.
"Step aside!" A soldier yelled, but nobody moved.
"Don't you understand the human language?" Wen Chao asked, "Or are you playing hero here?"
"Enough!" Zixuan said, "You used us as your dogs, now you want to use us as your bait."
Wen Chao nodded, "You want to rebel, I'm warning you, I've been putting up with you for a long time. You better tie that girl up yourself her and now, or all of you people from whatever clan won't be able to return!"
Two men tried to grab MianMian. Wangji saw them and hit one of them with the torch while Zixuan kicked the other, "It's such a shame that disciples like you are from the Jin Clan, how disgraceful!"
"Rebels," Wen Chao said, "you rebels! Attack!" The soldiers charged and attacked.
