Hinintay ko na humupa ang mga reporters sa pag-iintriga sa dalawa. Wala na si Dexter sa tabi ko dahil tinawagan siya ng mga magulang niya na sunduin sila sa labas. I have no choice but roam around, find some ways that could benefit me.
Kumuha ako ng wine mula sa mga waiters na nag-aassist nang biglang may kumuha ng atensyon ko. It was Mrs. Lea Cameron, my mother's business partner.
"Hija, mabuti at nakadalo ka. Where's your mother?" Nakangiti niyang sabi habang kumukuha ng wine rin sa waiter.
I smiled at her, mabuti na lang at nakasundo ko kaagad si Mrs. Lea Cameron. She's very an intelligent woman and I've really learned so much from her whenever she's visiting my mother and talked about business. Dahil isa akong business student, nakakasabay ako sa usapan nila at doon nakuha ko ang kaniyang loob.
"She went abroad po Tita. For business purposes po..."
Napatango siya sa sinabi ko. "Is that so? Ikaw lang ba mag-isa?"
"May kasama po ako kanina, kaso kailangan niya pong samahan 'yong family niya kaya naiwan akong mag-isa." I laughed languidly and she also laughed with me.
"Boyfriend ba 'yan?" She teased.
Umiling ako. She doesn't know about me and Cuello's past. Wala rin akong balak sabihin sa kaniya.
"Walang nagkakamali Tita..." Ako po ang nagkakamali kasi.
"Oh, so a friend?"
Tumango ako. "Yes po tita. Gay friend actually..."
"You're beautiful hija. Someone will love you endlessly. Come on let's go, I have to introduce you to my family. They need to meet you..."
Hindi na ako nakaapila nang hilain ako ni Mrs. Lea papunta sa table ng mga Cameron. I stiffened when I saw Cuello talking to his girlfriend who's very happy sitting beside him. I almost puke when Cuello tried to whisper something to her ear. He's fricking annoying!
Everyone gasped when they saw me approached. Ang iba ay gulat dahil ngayon pa lang nila ako nakikita pero ang pamilya ni Cuello ay hindi makapaniwalang nandito rin ako, except to his father who immediately looked at his son who's still busy talking with his girlfriend. Hindi pa niya ako nakikita.
My jaw clenched when the girl giggled. Pakiramdam ko puputok ang ugat ko sa utak dahil sa kalandiang nangyayari sa kanila ngayon. Let's see kung ngingiti pa kayo kapag nakita niyo ako!
"Everyone, I want you to meet my friend's intelligent daughter... Calla Guzman."
I saw how Cuello stopped whispering when he heard me. Slowly, na parang nasa isang dramatic slow motion scene kami, he turned his head to see me. My lips smirked when his jaw dropped. Especially when his eyes roamed around my body.
Ito ang sinayang mong leche ka. Magsisi ka!
"Calla, this is my family. Ellen and Kenneth Cameron. Their children, Cuello and Cindy Cameron. This is my husband, Philip Cameron... My son isn't here yet, he's probably on his way here... Well, let's proceed–" pinagpatuloy ni Lea Cameron ang kaniyang pagpapakilala sa mga kamag-anak nila but I was too busy glancing at Cuello who's so damn pissed to see me.
I smiled bitterly after I drifted my gaze upon the other Camerons. He must have really hate me much to look so pissed right now. That's good! Let me ruin your night, Cameron.
"Friends daughter?" Parang nabingi si Mrs. Cameron–mommy ni Cuello–sa narinig niya.
Tumango si Lea Cameron. "Yes, remember Karen Guzman? She's her real daughter. The one who's been missing."
