Another time Skip, this is after they go back to the Pierce house talking to Gambi.
Khalil POV
I glance at Nell as I drive through the desert. All the books I've read, they explain the loves of their lives sleeping with a soft look, their eyebrows at ease, a innocent look gracing their features as they look at peace. But when I look at her, her eyebrows are slightly frowned, her lips slightly parted, the tip of her tongue resting lightly on her lower lip slightly peeking out. Her hands balled into fist at her chest as she curls into the seat. She looks troubled, but I know that she's just barely sleep. If I speed up slightly she's waking up. I turn down the heat and fix myself up.
"You make me sick, you sound like a lovesick puppy," I ignore it and continue to think. I hear one of our phones ring and she opens her eyes, she looks around before reaching into her pocket and sighing before hanging up the call.
Janelle:Gambi talked to them.
Me:You should have expected that.
Janelle:Yeah... Where are we?
I shrug.
Me:Last state I remember was Minnesota.
Janelle:Did you pass the border?
Me:No.
Janelle:You got us lost *laughing*
Me:How are we gonna get lost if we have no destination?
Janelle:Who knows with you.
Me:Have a little faith in ya man, geez.
Janelle:Says the same man who got us lost going back to our hotel.
Me:One time!
Janelle:Still got lost.
We laugh and that silence rolls over the car, I see her eyes looking ahead while slightly sneaking over to me. I hold my hand out and she grasps it.
Me:I should've listened to you.
Janelle:What do you mean?
Me:You said we should've just left... But I didn't listen. I'm sorry.
Her hand tightens around mine and she looks at me.
Janelle:Do it or don't either way you'll regret both at some point.
I nod and she continues to speak.
Janelle:Can you promise me something?
Me:Sure.
Janelle:Promise me that whatever happens, if you no longer feel anything for me or us you'll tell me? No matter the time of night, day, or holiday? You'll tell me?
Me:Where is that coming from?
Janelle:*shrugging* My parents, my mom couldn't deal with my dad's powers it just became too much for her. Seeing crap we've been through not to mention normal couple drama.
Me:Your mom is a normal person compared to you guys. Even to me. But we'll always be together, so don't worry.
Janelle:Still.
Me:Still nothing, nothing you can do can make me fall out of love for you, it's even true for your parents they're back together once your mom accepted you guys. Besides you deal with Painkiller greater than I usually can and Rogue seems to like me from time to time. I should be saying this not you.
