"Jessica!" Her mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"One sec, mom I'll be down in a minute."

"I'll go." Danny said.

"Thank you." She whispered.

He bent down and kissed her softly.

"Say bye mommy!"

"Bye sweetheart!"

"Hey Danny, hello my little sweetie. Grandmas sorry she didn't get to see you welcome your way into the world."

"Tell her, it's okay grandma!"

"Mamas back!" Jessica said, walking down the stairs in her pjs.

"How are you Jessie, I know how hard birth is, I've done it 3 times." Dorothy laughed.

"I'm fine, a little sore, but fine mama."

"Good."

Jessica walked to the couch and laid down.

"Danny will you get my ice pack?"

"Of course honey."

"Jessie, she's too precious for words."

"Thank you mama. I made her myself."

"Heyyy, I helped." Danny said as he handed her the ice pack.

"That you did." She sat up so he could sit down and then laid her head on his lap.

"I'm exhausted."

"Newborns are the easiest stage of children because once they begin growing, they become assholes who like to break things."

"Mama!"

"It's true, you broke my antique lamp."

"Not that damn antique lamp, will I ever live it down?"

"No!"

Jessica and Danny woke to the sound of a crying baby and Jessica groaned.

"Your turn."

Danny slid out of bed and grabbed Rue from her bassinet.

"Hi sweet girl. What's all the fuss about? You want mommy's boobies? Well so do I."

Jessica sat up and yawned, reaching for the baby without opening her eyes.

"I wish I had boobs sometimes. That way we could take turns."

"I'm the one whose stuck doing it, I'm okay with it though. I signed up for this when we decided we wanted a little one."

Jessica nursed Rue and afterwards Rue was wide awake.

"Awe man we have a night owl."

The baby grunted and kicked her legs.

"A really cute one though."

"I can't disagree there."
