Hello! So this month I read more short stories than books (again). I couldn't read much with Diwali preps and all. In attempt to get rid of dark circles I gave up on late night reading (didn't work as I kept scrolling Instagram till 2 AM).
Here's the list of short stories:
▪︎Maegan Stone - SydneyDruckman
A 15 years old spy gets to live a normal life for first time in her life, that too for a secret mission. It's not really easy when there are two guys trying to get her attention.▪︎Door to Door - defend
Hudson has a record for making people contribute to the charity he works for. Exception is a girl who slammed the door in his face without even knowing his name. She happens to live in the very apartment next to his, only floor to ceiling windows separating them.▪︎Cities that never sleep - occasional
A girl who relies staying in the city stumbles upon a boy who wants to leave the city. I don't know what else to tell about this one. It's sweet and short.▪︎He loves you not - heyitsnf
Ella's story of heartbreak and patching her heart together again. I really loved the format of this story with time travel and all.▪︎She loves you not - heyitsnf
Sequel of He loves you not. The heartbreakers story post heartbreak. I thought I was getting it when I was reading, but after finishing, I doubt if I actually understood anything from both the books.I love how these short stories leave a bigger impact in less words than long lengthy books. I have a reading list of all short stories I've read. You can check out that on my profile.
Other than these, I read only one book on wattpad and am halfway through the second. It's pretty much everything bookish that happened this month. Didn't feel like reading any books after a series destroyed the reader in me. Read further to know more, otherwise just skip it.
•••••{
I read The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants by Ann Brashares this month. I just want to tell you that, if the first book in the series gives enough closure to move on with your life and find a new book, don't do the stupidity of reading the next books in the series. The authors are so cruel, they will kill your favourite characters you thought the story can't go on without, let alone end. Apart from giving us a whole new world full of adventures and emotions, authors are good at ruining the stories you loved by doing something devastating.
Once you read it, you as a human, don't have any way to unread it and you will always remember that your favourite character wasn't there for the happy ending.
I need to learn to stop. A little peek into the lives of the characters to know what happened to them after the ending hurt in way it shouldn't considering it's just fiction. I always assume happy endings are followed by happily ever afters and if they don't I rather not want to know.
The curiosity of finding if the characters who didn't had happy ending in last book get it in next book or not, gave a glimpse that another character didn't get it. Maybe I get too involved emotionally with the stories I read, I always forget what's real and what's not.
I should stop now. It's almost 2 AM and I can go on like this forever. I just wish I could forget reading those sentences which are going to run in my mind whenever I think about this series. Ugh. I can't stop thinking about it even now.
}•••••I wrote the above rant immediately after reading that thing and didn't bother to erase or edit.
So those were the short stories I couldn't read last month. Also found some more to read next month. Planning to read them before the year ends so I can tell ya'll about them.
We're already at the end of this devastating year. Wow. Can't wait to start fresh with a new year.
That's all for now. See ya.
Thanks for reading :)
