(Before reading)
The thing is, I'm 70% done with Winter. It's #4 and last book of the series (well, technically) and of course I don't want it to finish after spending almost a month with all those characters. I can finish it in one day but I don't want to. And I also have two exams in two days for which I haven't prepared anything at all. So, I just paused Winter, but I need to read something. Only You may help in this matter.

(After reading)
Well, it was meant to be a quick read but chapters were a bit longer and I had to balance my studies and sleep with it, in which I miserably failed and messed everything up.

First of all, when I started reading I was going to read a chapter or two before sleeping. I ended up reading 10 instead and I was up till 5am, which is the most I ever stayed up.

Secondly I spent the whole day reading it and didn't study anything. So I have spent most of my time reading it instead of studying. If I fail, Only You is to be blamed.

I was noting my reactions like last time but by the end, it crossed 1200 words. There's no point making you read my nonsense reactions, so I just cut that all and saved that in One Note.

Now, let's talk about the book. Charlotte Anderson is in love with her childhood best friend Ben. Over the years her feelings go deeper and she thinks Ben doesn't think of her like that. So to not damage their friendship, she never talks to him about her feelings.

Until one day, at a party, she sees him with another girl. She's hurt and drinks uncontrollably. In that drunken state, she confesses her love for Ben to a stranger. The stranger turns out to be Ben's best friend Mason Reed.

It's a bit unrealistic that Ben's two best friends never met before, but Ben's the one who kept them apart all this time (I still wonder how he did that).

Mason is a footballer and a player. Really popular in the school. Girls swooning over him wherever he goes. A bit of dark past which keeps him from totally trusting anyone. (why all main leads I'm coming across on wattpad seem similar?)

Mason offers to help Charlotte by suggesting to date him to get Ben confess his feelings AKA fake dating. TATBILB. That's what I remembered after knowing they're gonna fake their relationship. I already knew who she'll end up with, but the situations seemed different. So I was hoping to get something different. Although there were many similarities between Only you and TATBILB, both have a special place in my heart.

No kissing. No sex. No falling in love. Three rules. Made to be broken eventually.

Everything goes as planned. Ben's furious at first. Then they get to know he's already dating another girl, Jessica (she's one of a bitch). They still keep up with their plan.

They get to know each other. Hang out at each other's house. Watch horror movies. Play laser tag. I really loved how Mason and Char's bond got stronger. She doesn't care about talking/doing the right thing. In short knows that she won't be judged when she's around him. He's always making sure she's happy and comfortable. Damn, I love them.

Ben seemed to be uncomfortable or even hurt seeing them together sometimes, but never said anything. He kept being a jerk to her and said she's not his type (?). The whole time I tried not to hate him thinking there can be a love triangle. But when he indirectly helped Mason and Char get together he also kept interrupting at the wrong moments just like his girlfriend.

When she starts realizing that Mason knows her better than her freaking childhood best friend, she starts falling for him. Obviously she can't help it when he's also so in love with her. But the thing is, here everyone is stupid. He doesn't like me. Girl, I'm reading, I can't see, but still I can tell that he can't stay away from you.

They broke all the rules. The separated. Went paragliding. Got together again (ye rishta kya kehlata hai!?) Then Jessica provided some incomplete information and they broke up. Everything got messed up. I nearly cried. I wanted to go inside the book and kill Ben for his stupidity. But at least Char & Ben saved their friendship from totally falling apart.

By the time Jessica told the remaining part and Charlotte realized her love for Mason, he misunderstood something and made another stupid mistake to mess everything up more. I was banging my head on pillow at 3am. They were already taking so long for realization and when they did that's what they were doing.

The wait was just so long. They don't confess their feelings until literally the last chapter. God, no one deserves to be waited like that.

I don't know why and how but almost everytime I love the male lead more than the female one. I ignored the cast given by author but couldn't help falling for Mason everytime she described him. The way he treated Charlotte everytime, his complements, their dates, him playing guitar and singing, the promposal, that little speech he gave on graduation and every small thing I can't remember right now, damn. I love him. I even love the bonus chapter more than the first one.

Charlotte's an antisocial girl, doesn't like to be centre of attention, takes kindle to parties, she seemed so much familiar at first. But at some points she was somewhat different from her earlier description, I can't explain, but I felt like that. She's a bit violent and I actually love that side of her. She has got some hella savage comebacks. That scene where she was opening university letters, I felt her. Mason calling her Angel almost made me forget her name.

Becca, girl, thanks for being there. She was saying everything I wanted to say after seeing them act so stupid.

I can't end this without talking about Charlotte's family. Her parents are goals. I don't understand why she started calling them Chris and Gabby. That was so weird to read. Although I could only see the water and food they were wasting, I loved their fights. I loved Ethan being protective for his sister and their fight of course. I really want a book on him and Alex.

I swear, I was thinking about them during exam too. I couldn't get them out of my head. 6 days is longer than I expected, maybe that's why I got so involved, but I think I should have loved them this much anyway.

The way their relationship developed, Mason's fear of trusting people, his damaged relation with his father, Charlotte stressing over getting accepted in universities, Charlotte and Ben having a normal friendship again, Charlotte and Jessica making amends, Becca's relationship and her breakup making way for Only Broken, everything was on point.

It's extremely cheesy, so read at your own risk. As for me, it's exactly what I was looking for. Some things annoyed me, but I truly adore them both. It's just been 4 days and I'm missing them so much.

I'm really glad it's not same as TATBILB. I never messed an exam for TATBILB which I did for Only You. I'm really hoping to get another bonus chapter. Is it possible?

It's been a busy week, not. I'm home and my siblings are not letting me read in peace, leave alone writing. I completed TLC and I'm surprised I haven't cried yet. Maybe after Stars Above.

Anyways, take care and stay safe everyone.

Thanks for reading :)
