Parting Thoughts

Jon traveled back to Winterfell with a heavy heart . He had spoken to Rae before he left . She made it very clear that she was her mother's daughter and would not do anything to hurt Dany . Surprisingly for the first time she seemed mature . Jon reassured her that he loved her and Dany but Rae simply told Jon that she did not believe him . She then rather gracefully and coldly told him to go and that she and Dany would be fine without him . She simply left him standing there with tears running down his face . Dany came in to check on Rae afterwards and saw Jon standing there . Jon started to speak but Dany stopped him.

"Leave and never come back ."

"Dany , she's my daughter ."

" No , she's mine . Go to your other family . I'm warning you , Rae is mine and I will protect her and all that is hers against anyone and everyone . Including you and your son . You've only seen my good side don't make me show you what I'm capable of ."

She left the room . When Jon went to retrieve his belongings the maids told him the Queen had already packed for him . All his belongings were gone except for the clothes, cloak and sword that he had come with almost 2 decades ago . It was fitting he was leaving exactly as he had come . He did not blame Dany maybe she was right he had not committed fully to her and in the process maybe he had deprived her of having been in a happier marriage to someone who was committed to her and only her . In trying to do the right thing he had actually wronged everyone .
