The Proposal

Dany

Dany had decided to go to the wedding . She wanted to go without formal protocol because she wanted to address some personal issues . She also wanted to drop by unannounced to get a true idea of what was really going on . She didn't want the Starks to all get together and form a united front against her . She needed to secure Raes future . Even though she knew Jon would not be unfair to her in the event Dany was not there to protect her , she couldn't be sure that he would prioritize his daughter over his son . She knew Jon , she knew he must be feeling immense guilt in not being there for his son. Another matter was that his son was a male Targaryen , technically he may have more claim over the Iron Throne than Rae simply because he was male . She had to protect her daughters future . She had no intention of hurting Robb Stark unless he became a threat to her daughter or her . All these things had to be clarified face to face with the Starks . The truth was she did not trust Jon any longer . She needed to verify for herself that there was no interest on the part of the Starks to have Sansa and Jon's son claim the Iron Throne .

She was also curious to see Lady Sansa , she never had paid close attention to her in their previous meetings . She simply had not viewed her as competition  for her husband's affection . Little did Dany know that Sansa Stark would cast a shadow in between her and Jon their entire marriage . She wanted closure and to give Lady Stark a piece of her mind . She had moved on with Oberyn but it still did not excuse all the time that she had wasted with Jon.
