The End of a Marriage

Jon was standing outside the chamber , he did not mean to but he had heard the whole conversation . He was frozen in place .

Dany was leaving Sansa's chambers and she literally ran right into Jon as soon as she opened the doors . Sansa could see him as well from the back of the room .

Dany : Well , from the look on your face I gather that you heard the whole conversation .

Jon : I did not mean to...

Dany cut him off : Dear husband , you never mean to do anything . Isn't that the story of your life ? Jon , you clearly know nothing .

At any rate , I've talked to the High Septon he has assured me we can dissolve this marriage and you will have to revoke your Kingship . Do not worry , that title will not be given by me to anyone else . No one else will be my King , but I will be taking a new husband. If Rae wants to give that title to her husband that is fine .

Jon : New husband ? ? What are you talking about ?

Dany laughs : What are you jealous ? That is just so cliche Jon . You don't want me but you don't want anyone else to be with me either ?

Jon just stares at her dumbfounded .

Sansa is just listening quietly from the back of the room .
Sansa : Maybe you should continue this in private ?

Dany laughs again hysterically , after a few seconds : What ? You were part of my marriage thanks to my soon to be ex husband , you should be part of the dissolution too . Don't you think ? The only person missing is Oberyn. If he was here it would be a party .

Jon : Oberyn ? Oberyn Martell ? He looks shocked .

Dany : Why are you so shocked ?

Jon : Surely you cannot be serious about him? He's a womanizer ! He hates me because of Rhaegar and Lyanna ! Are you doing this to punish me for Sansa ?

Dany (furiously ) : You are the biggest hypocrite and coward I know . Not everything in life is about you and your so called pure love for Lady Sansa . I've never met such an egotistical couple .

Dany ( calming down ):You must know the saying that the opposite of love is not hate .... it's indifference . The truth is I do not hate you anymore . I just don't care what you do as long as it doesn't affect Rae . Right now you need to sign everything I am asking you , immediately . And if you must know . Yes I love Oberyn . Do you know why ?

Jon again is staring .

Dany : Because he makes me happy . HE BRINGS ME HAPPINESS . I have fun with him . We laugh together .I have never laughed so much in my life . I never realized how unhappy, seeing you brooding and being unhappy , made me .I realized love is supposed to make your heart light and bright . You never did that for me . Being with you , you always made me feel less than in some way . You did not do right by me Jon . You just did not do right by me .

Now let's just end this .I will marry Oberyn and you and Lady Sansa can do or not do whatever you like . I simply don't care anymore . I just care about my daughter as far as you are concerned .That is it .

Jon : Ober....

Dany : Stop ! I will not here one word against Oberyn ! Do you understand ?

Jon : I've only wanted the best for you Dany .

Dany : On some level I believe that .But that is not you , sadly it never was . We would have been better as coparents .The only thing I blame you for was wasting so many years of my life when you knew that I was not your true love . For that I will not forgive you .

With that Dany marches out of the room like a Queen .
