The Proposal

Jon

Jon wanted to respect Sansa's wishes and get Robb married . He thought he was too young but at this point Sansa was so determined and frankly Robb did not truly consider him his father so his opinion did not really matter at this point .

Jaime and Brienne had agreed to the betrothal. Brienne had even suggested going ahead with the ceremony because then Joanna could stay in Winterfell permanently . Sansa had agreed . So instead of a betrothal there would be a marriage .

He was stunned at how quickly everything had happened . Sansa had told Bran and they decided there would be a small ceremony just close friends and family in the Godswood .

Tyrion and Shae were of course invited .
Joanna had invited Rae .
Sansa had done the impossible and invited Dany and Rae as well . She told Jon that she wanted Robb to get to know Rae and she wanted to show Dany that Robb was not a threat to her or Dany. She had written a few letters to Dany and had graciously welcomed them. Dany had not responded as of yet .

Jon was truly not sure if this was a good idea or not . He desperately wanted his children to meet and get along but it seemed impossible . Sansa was doing it to wrap up loose ends but to also get a fresh start . She wanted to assure Robb's safety. That was understandable from her point of view .

Since Sansa was convinced she was going to die , the only thing she cared about was securing Robb's future . That was what she had told him after she had informed him that she had invited his wife and his daughter to Robb's Wedding . Jon was truly skeptical but what could he do he was an outsider .

Joanna was a lovely girl and seemed to have more of a softened stance on him than Robb did . Jon was happy that his son was getting to marry his true love .
