Things Change (Sugawara x Reader x ??)

Chapter 6

Sitting on the sofa next to Yuu listening to make comments on players and techniques. (F/n) was fine with it the first time but after the third time round she tuned out the game and moved to play with her phone. Hearing the game stop she was quick to eject the disc much to Yuu's protest. Walking to her room she had filled up on volleyball quota for the day.

The following day (f/n) arrived at school moments before the bell rang not getting a chance to talk to Koushi or Daichi. By the time lunch rolled around thethird year was grateful to be free of the classroom. Heading to her normal lunch spot taking the seat next to Koushi before pulling out the disc with the practice match footage and handing it over to the captain.

"Enjoy watching the footage," looking to the disc in Daichi's hands. "Yuu made me watch it with him repetitively last night."

"That definitely sounds like him," his voice full of pride for his juniors actions.

Koushi gave her a sympathetic smile, "Noya knows how you feel about volleyball he just forgets sometimes."

"I know its just a bit hard sometimes. everyone around me is passionate about volleyball while i just tolerate the sport," rubbing his forearm in a comforting way.

"Don't worry we understand and we all have our likes and dislikes its what makes us unique." running his hand down her arm until he was holding her hand giving it a reassuring squeeze.

"Anyway enough about volleyball, what are we doing this weekend?" flicking her eyes between the two.

Daichi was the reply, "we have training first thing Saturday morning."

"We could do something after that or on Sunday?" Sugawara quick to chime in. "Isn't there a festival this weekend?"

The short female was quick to reply, "its all day Saturday so we could go after you finish training."

Sugawara looked towards Daichi, "we could ask the rest of the club to come."

"That's a great idea!" Daichi smiled, "we can let everyone know at training."

The afternoon went by quickly passed and everyone moved towards their club activities. (F/n) headed to her club activity to begin work on her sculpture and finalize a few small details. By the end of the day making significant progress before packing up and heading over to the gym to meet up with Koushi so they could walk home together.

Waking up Friday morning in a surprisingly good mood. Cheerfully getting ready for school and heading out the door before Yuu even started running around. Enjoying the walk to school as the breeze softly ruffled her short hair, it was mornings like these she appreciated the small things in life. Arriving at school (f/n) knew it was going to be a good day just from the feeling in the air that morning.

The school proceeded as usual and when the lunch bell finally rung out (f/n) was the first to arrive at there normal bench. Pulling out her lunch and digging not bothering to wait for the two boys to join. After finishing her lunch and closing the lid the boys arrived the table.

Wiping her mouth with a tissue, "hey. what took you so long."

Daichi shrugged his shoulder, "we were asked to carry books to the staff room by sensei."

Taking note of their good mood had (f/n) curios, "so what are you two happy about?"

"Sensei announced we are doing the Golden Week training camp again this year," excitement evident in the setter's voice

"we will also be having a practice match against Nekoma on the last day," Daichi added. "we used to verse them a lot in the past but its been a while."

Knowing the boys were getting fired up, "so old rivals then? if that's the case its going to be one hell of a match."

Continuing the discussion of the golden week training camp, (f/n) was cheering a week without Yuu and their mum and dad would be away for work. That meant she was alone for that week and was planning on doing nothing other than playing Yuu's xbox and peacefully sleeping!

Before the bell rang they started to make their way back, "so do you guys have training today, if your getting ready for this match?"

Guiltily looking at (f/n) and nodding his head, "yeah we do." Pulling her into a side hug, "Sorry for not letting you know earlier." Placing a kiss on her forehead as they walked into class.

"it's okay i understand," bummed out as she didn't have her club activity that afternoon and was looking forward to spending time with her boyfriend along.

Waking up Saturday morning to the sounds of Yuu getting ready for morning practice had (f/n) rolling over trying to squeeze a few more hours of sleep in. grumbling to herself, 'why does he have to be so loud' before closing her eyes hearing the door slam shut.

The sound a the front door opening and slamming shut as Yuu returned home from practice had (f/n) rolling over waking up from her few hours of extra sleep. Checking her phone realizing she had slept most of the day away.

Yuu banged loudly on her bedroom door, "(f~f/n)! Wake up everyone is going to be there before us!"

Standing up and cracking the door open her voice still hoarse from waking up, "i'm up and will be ready soon."

Pulling on her shoes before heading out the door where Yuu was already waiting bouncing with energy. Looking at her younger brother as she stood up their wasn't to much difference between them. Yuu was a little shorter at a hundred and fifty nine centimeters not that she was much taller at a hundred and sixty two. He was wearing jeans and a hoodie sporting his usual spiky hair style. Looking down at herself she had almost the same style, black skinny jeans and a stripped hoodie showing off what little curves she had. Her hair was shorter than his as it was a pixie cut but without the blonde streak. The big difference between them was their eyes, Yuu's eyes were golden brown while (f/n)'s were an emerald green.

Arriving at the meet up point everyone was already there waiting for them.

"sorry we're late! (f/n) took sooo long to get ready," Yuu called out enthusiastically.

Giving Yuu a death glare before mumbling, "sorry everyone if you had to wait long."

Sugawara came up and giving her a quick hug before taking her hand, "don't worry let's just enjoy the festivities."

Listening to Daichi organize where everyone should meet up for the fireworks later that night before they separated into groups. Watching as Hinata, Kageyama, Yuu and Tanaka practically run off to who knows where. A chuckle escaped past her lips, causing Sugawara to look down at her.

"What's so funny?" Trying to work out what made her laugh.

"Just those four and their unending supply of energy," looking in the direction they ran off.

Rubbing the back of his neck letting out a small laugh, "it never ceases to amaze us either."

Walking around the festival making sure to check everything out along with stopping to try all the different foods on offer. By the time they had looked at everything out it was almost time for the fireworks. Heading to meet up spot, Sugawara wrapped his arm around (f/n) so she wouldn't get lost in the crowds.

The couple were the last ones to the meeting spot, lucky for them Yuu had saved a space next to him. Sugawara sat down pulling (f/n) onto his lap wrapping his arms around her waist. Leaning her head back against his shoulder to watch the the fireworks as they began.

Sugawara place a kiss against her check, "i love you (f/n)." though deep down the third year setter knew something was changing as he stole a quick look at Daichi.

Oblivious to what was happening around her as she watched fireworks, "i love you too Koushi."
