The minutes ticked by slowly; each word the teen read meant nothing as her mind drifted away from the textbook she was reading. Lately, she had been struggling to concentrate on the tasks in front of her. Her mind had been debating when to use the test hidden in between her mattress. (F/n) initially wanted to wait till aft exams were over, but the suspense was crippling her ability to function normally. She had been zoning out more often and people were starting to take notice.

Closing her textbook at the end of the day, letting out a thankful sigh that she didn't have to take photos in the gym today. She had a feeling if she were to be in the gym with the way she'd been spacing out, it would more than likely end up with a volleyball to the head. Throwing her bag over her shoulder before exiting the classroom.

"(F/n)!" Airia called out from down the hall, trying to catch her friend's attention.

Stepping to the side, she turned, "hey."

Pursing her lips, noticing something was off about the emerald-eyed female, "I just wanted to check on you before I head off to my club."

Her brow wrinkled in confusion, "why?"

Shrugging her shoulders, "cause I'm worried... You've been zoning out heaps, and you're always saying you don't want to hang out cause your feeling yuck."

Shuffling on the spot, not knowing how to reply, "oh... well, I'm stressing out with exams coming up."

Narrowing her eyes, "I know you, and this isn't how you get when you stress over school stuff. This is something else, something you're not telling me."

Casting her eyes to the side, trying to avoid Airia's piercing stare, "it's nothing."

The taller female took a step back as the concern in her eyes grew, "what type of trouble did you get yourself into?"

"I don't really know yet," turning to leave, she chewed her bottom lip. "I gotta go."

Airia reached out to grabbed (F/n)'s sleeve, "you know I'm always here for you if you need help."

The third-year could only nod before pulling her arm away from her friend. Keeping her head down as she moved through the crowd, not wanting anyone to notice that her eyes watering up and her stomach was knotted to the point where she thought she lose her lunch if she wasn't careful.

Arriving home, she called out, "I'm home."

Only hearing silence, she checked the kitchen to see if her mother was home. Eyeing a note taped to the fridge, she stepped further into the room. Only to scoff after reading the message, her parents were out for a business dinner and wouldn't be home till late.

Turning on the spot and heading back to her room, it was typical of her parents to be late coming home due to work priorities. Dropping herself into her desk chair, the teen pulled out her work, attempting to study for the upcoming exams.

(f/n) tapped her notebook with the end of her pencil as her eyes flicked up to the clock on her bedside table. Only twenty minutes had passed since she had sat down, but the air in the room was suffocating. Emerald eyes flicked to the spot where the pregnancy test was hiding, chewing her bottom lip, knowing now would be the perfect time to do it while no one was home.

Teeth gnawed away at her bottom lip as she mentally worked out how long she had until Yuu returned home. He wouldn't leave school for a few more hours which gave her plenty of time to find out.

Dropping the pencil on the forgotten textbook, she went to lock the bedroom door before going to retrieve the pink box from its hiding spot. The emerald-eyed teen sat on the edge of the bed, peeling the plastic wrapping off as she tried to ignore the weight in her stomach, becoming heavier. With shaky fingers, she opened the carton. Tipping the box's contents into her open hand, the foil-wrapped test and the folded instruction leaflet fell out.

Gently dropping the pink box and the tester on the bed next to her before unfolding the instructions. Chewing her bottom lip as she read over the details, making sure not to miss anything. Swallowing the build-up of saliva, swapping the paper for the tester. The white plastic weighed next to nothing in her trembling finger. Pulling off the bright pink cap, she eyed the absorbent end that she needed to pee on. The teen returned the cap before letting out a shaky breath.

Pushing herself off the bed, she began to make her way towards the bathroom until a thought stopped her in her tracks. She needed to capture this moment on camera. Her back molars chewed her tongue debating, it would capture her raw emotion, and it was something that couldn't be scripted.

She turned on her heel while pocketing the plastic test, heading back to her room to retrieve her camera and tripod. Lugging the equipment to the bathroom taking a solid half an hour to set everything up correctly. After doing a few test images and making sure the camera was set up on continuous mode, the teen knew it was time.

Sucking in a deep breath (F/n) uncapped the test and took a few moments to complete her business on the toilet. Recapping the test, she put it face down on the counter so she wouldn't be tempted to sneak a peak.

Three minutes or one hundred and eighty seconds, that was how long it would take to get an accurate result. That was how long (F/n) was left in suspense as she sat on the closed toilet seat, counting down the time.

She ran a hand through her soft locks while telling herself that no matter what the result, everything would be okay. But deep down, there was a tiny part of her that already knew what the results were going to be and once it was confirmed, everything was going to come crashing down around her.

Once she had finished counting, she pressed the ten-second countdown on the camera. Picking the test up off the counter, making sure to keep it face down. Trying to steady her hands as she mentally prepared herself.

Sweaty fingers turned the plastic over in her fingers. Her eyes zoned in on the control panel before moving to the result. Her emerald eyes could only stare at the pregnancy test. Her vision began to blur as the tears began to fall. Her bottom lip wobbled as she struggled to breathe. (F/n) struggled to stay grounded as her mind started to panic and shut down.

The test slipped between her fingers as she broke down. The positive pregnancy test staring up at her.
