MAKEOVER. Everyone had seen it in movies, tv shows, and basically, anything that involved a new girl or the nerdy girl. And it seemed like Toni was getting on her own-she thinks?
Toni was listening to the other girls talking about designer stuff, pretending to understand what designer clothing they were talking about. She and the other girls walked to Kathleen's front door with their bags. All of them were sent back home to get a sleepover back before arriving back at Kathleen's house. As expected, Toni took the longest to come back.
She had a sheepish expression on her face, but Kathleen welcomed them all to her home-also known as a mansion. Kathleen lived uphill and away atop the rich, glam neighborhood of Riverdale. It has a rose garden in the back along with a place to golf. Oh, rich people.
It was weird to her-its know that people in the south side were starving and working the minimum to pay for dinner when the rich were just playing golf when sipping on some cocktails. Ugh.
Toni's dirty boots squeaked against the clean marble floor. She looked around the chic, sleek house and felt self-conscious in her ripped jeans and cropped top. Kathleen led her to her bedroom, and Toni swore that it was bigger than her trailer.
"Welcome to my bedroom where you can see my pool from the window!" Exclaimed Kathleen, clasping her hands together. "C'mon, make yourself at home!"
"Wow!" Said Katherine, a cheerleader. "Kathleen! You outdid yourself with the decorations!"
"I know right?!" Smiled Kathleen. "It's amazing-all thanks to me!"
Everyone settled down, and Toni shifted awkwardly next to Cheryl. Cheryl scooted and patted down to the seat next to her, telling her to sit down next to her. Toni blushed and looked back at Kathleen.
"Ladies! I welcome you to the annual event of ladies night where we go crazy while talking about boys or girls while snacking on sweets!" Said Kathleen, then she winked at Toni.
Toni blushed and glanced away as Kathleen rambled about snacks and movies. They voted to watch Mean Girls. With snacks all around them, Toni opened a bag of crisps and sat back to watch the opening scene.
Her eyes widened, watching as Cheryl sat between her legs by accident. Cheryl blushed and quickly turned to look at Toni with an apologetic look.
"Sorry, TT," Whispered Cheryl, scooting next to her. "I-I didn't mean to sit between your legs!"
"It's fine," Toni shook her head and smiled.
She looked back to the huge tv screen where mean girls were playing and closed her leg. That felt nice. Toni quickly scattered that thought and focused on the movie as Cady got ready to go to her first-day school.
