SHE HAVEN'T TALKED TO DAISY for a week, and Cheryl felt quite bad-actually, guilty. Like very guilty. Cheryl couldn't sleep knowing that she had broken off with her best friend. But the thing was-Cheryl didn't know if she should feel guilty. Like what Daisy did was horrible, but Daisy was just jealous and felt like she was losing Cheryl. She knew what that was like, but she didn't obviously do what Daisy did.

Daisy had outed Toni, and though Toni said it was fine-Cheryl didn't know what to feel. Because now they couldn't even step foot in the art room or else-the paintings that Toni had painted were locked away, but they were able to save some of them. Cheryl didn't know what they did with the rest of the paintings, but she hoped that they hadn't destroyed such works of art.

Anyways, that didn't matter-the only time she had seen Daisy was in her class. They had only one class together, which both of them were bummed about, but it didn't seem so bad now...none of her friends had spoken about Daisy, well, she didn't know because Cheryl no longer sat at the table.

She spent her time in the library while Toni spends her days in the classroom, serving lunch detentions as a punishment for the incident...Toni was on to her about the whole 'not pulling strings' things, but she didn't question her further than she had done on that day.

Daisy and Cheryl usually walk together to class, so the fact that none of them is friends anymore-they roamed the lonely halls alone now.

She snapped out her gaze when Toni's hand touched her. Cheryl blushed and looked up from her book. Cheryl tucked a strand of hair behind her ears and sheepishly smiled at Toni.

Toni was able to get out of detention since the teacher that was overlooking her detention wasn't at school, so the two of them were studying in the library during lunch period-Cheryl, nor Toni felt comfortable enough to sit at the table.

"Sorry," Mumbled Cheryl, shaking her head. "Just thinking..."

"It's alright," Said Toni, smiling. "You alright, though?"

"Um, I don't know...I feel off," Said Cheryl. "Whatever that means."

Toni placed a hand on her shoulder and asked, "Is it about Daisy?"

"How do you know...?" Cheryl furrowed her eyebrows. "I mean-"

"Cheryl, it's fine-you can talk about her, it won't offend me," Toni said. "I promise."

Cheryl sighed and glanced away. "I dunno-I feel like I was too harsh with my words at her. Was I?"

She had recounted her memories to Toni that very day, and Toni had listened to her and was comforting when she broke down crying. Cheryl watched as Toni bit her lips.
