Chapter Forty Two: Who's that Girl?∞ ₒ ˚ ° 𐐒𐐚 ° ˚ ₒ ∞
CHERYL'S BLACK MARY-JANE WALKED DOWN THE BUSY HALLWAY. She passed by girls, who were reapplying another layer of lipstick in their locker's mirrors, jocks were laughing loudly, kids who were reviewing flashcards for their classes. Her heels turned the corner, and she walked into the girl's restroom.
She used the restroom and washed her hands with a pump of soap. Cheryl looked at herself in the bathroom and frowned. Her red hair was messy from playing volleyball in the gym, and Cheryl noticed some stained paints on her shirt.
Her eyes flickered at the paint of vibrant colors—it reminded her of Toni Topaz—the girl who she likes...? Cheryl doesn't know what her feelings toward the pink-haired girl are. Did she actually like the girl, or is she just messing with her?
One could totally see how flirty Cheryl has been toward Toni lately and though she didn't show it—she was quite flustered whenever someone caught her—aka Chanel. Chanel and Sweet Pea had caught on to the two's relationship and wondered what was going on.
Nothing was going on to Cheryl's disappointment. She meant this in the sweetest ways, but Toni Topaz was oblivious when it came to Cheryl's risky comments. Sometimes Cheryl just wanted to scream, 'Hey, I'm flirting with you! Flirt back!"
But obviously, Cheryl couldn't because she didn't know how Toni felt toward her...romantically. She didn't even know if Toni was into girls—oh my god, has she been flirting with a straight girl all this time?
Cheryl shook her head and rubbed her temples. God, she was probably overthinking this before Cheryl could think about anything else—Cheryl dried her hands and left the bathroom.
It was the end of the day, and Cheryl was going to meet up with Daisy. Daisy played the violin for their school's orchestra and was quite good at it. She would often practice in front of Cheryl-who has gotten to the squeaks and melody of the violin.
Cheryl walked down the hallway for a couple of minutes till she stopped at the orchestra room, where she saw Daisy talking to this black-haired girl. She paused and peered behind the corner, frowning.
She watched as they talked and noticed how red Daisy's face was. Cheryl wondered who the black-haired girl was. Not that Cheryl was jealous or anything like that—it was just that the girl seemed so familiar to her, but Cheryl couldn't pinpoint her name.
Oh, her name was Irene! Cheryl's head perked up and watched as Irene said goodbye to Daisy before leaving. Irene was in Daisy's orchestra class, and Cheryl sometimes would see her hanging around Daisy.
