No amount of time can heal Millie Cooper.
No amount of time can fix what she did.
Lamenting over her past choices, Millie Cooper was forced to move. Unlike any teenage girl her age, she's got a story that nobody knows about.

It can't be.
The one and only person who I dreaded to see since the incident but here she is, standing right in front of me with her messy blonde hair in a ponytail with her hazel eyes looking directly at me. My heart begins to pound causing my breath to sped up.
"Leila?" I choke out not being able to think of anything else to say.
My hands begin to feel sweaty and my stomach begins to turn instantly. As she stares into my eyes, I try my best to keep the eye contact but I keep finding myself glancing down at the cement ground.
"Millie...what are you doing here?" By the tone in her voice I can tell I'm the last person she ever wanted to see here. I frantically look around the carnival seeing everyone glancing over but minding their own business.
"It's a carnival..why shouldn't I be here?" I glance behind me real quick away from Leila, to see if the boys are still distracted but thankfully I see Owen looking over and drops the basketball that's in his hand immediately when he notices who's talking to me and he automatically begins walking towards me leaving Carter behind. As he approaches I look back at Leila.
"My brother trusted you! And now he's dead!" She spits out and walks away in fury without any last words.
I swear in that moment the whole carnival stopped, it completely froze and all eyes were on me. Instantly the color drained from my face turning pail. My feet become stiff not letting me move. I try to move but I was frozen in my steps.
Owen rushes by my side to comfort me with Carter following behind him minutes later.
I don't know what to say or do but everyone has questioning eyes...especially Carter. As I look around I have no idea what to do but the only thing I'm sure of is I need to go. I need to get out of here.
"I wanna get away from here." I look up at Owen with pleading eyes. I try my best to steady my breathing and regain composition again, getting myself together.
He nods and with all lurking eyes on me I begin to walk straight out of the area, making my way to the car. As I walk I don't think about anything else except focusing on my way out.
I can hear Owen's and Carter's footsteps following behind me.
I turn around at the sound of Carter whispering to Owen about something, which I'm assuming he has to look for his sister but I don't wait for them to finish their conversation and I continue walking. I pass more lurking eyes which makes me want to crawl in a hole and hide.
I walk out of the front entrance looking for Carter's blue Toyota Camry but there's cars parked everywhere not letting it in sight. I look behind me, spotting Owen walking alone as he approaches me. As he approaches, he gives me a look that tells me to follow him and so I do.
