"You need to tell me about the whole prophecy, legend thing whatever it is that you stopped talking about." Lily said as Owen pulled into her driveway.
"Why?" He asked, opening his door and stepping out.
"How am I involved? Why am I involved?" Lily asked, feeling a tremble in her stomach.
"Does it matter?"
"Yeah, kind of!"
"Fine, sit your ass down, and listen."
Lily sat down where she stood, and scowled at herself. It was unfortunate how immediately she responded, like a trained dog.
Owen smirked, and sighed. "A knight of Darkness battles the King of Power for the life of a single girl. A mutt of multiple breeds aids the fallen Knight, and sends his healed soul on to defeat the darkness the Power has created. If the Knight dies, or if he fails to defeat the King of Power, the world will crumble into oblivion. The King of Power does not stand alone, and employs all under him to destroy the Mutt, and the Knight. With the time of disaster coming close the fight has grown to accommodate his purpose."
Lily nodded, and thought over his words. "The teachers?" Owen nodded. "The students?" He shrugged. "Sana?"
"She's a sex demon. Succubus. Just an ugly sex deprived demon in need of a fix." Lily rolled her eyes at him.
"How do I heal you?" Owen shrugged.
"I don't know. You'll know when we get there." Lily nodded.
"So, will you win?" Owen looked at her, and bit his lip.
"I don't know."
"Does that mean I don't have to do my homework?"
"It's during break, you don't have homework." Lily shrugged.
"So where will it happen?"
"He will come find me, and wind up bringing my Mate with him."
Lily studied him intensely and noticed the way his jaw ticked.
"Anything else?"
"Yeah, what can I do to even the score?"
Lily stood with Jace, and faced him head on.
"I need to know how I can help." Jace growled. Impressive for a human.
"Stay out of the way." Lily told him.
"This involves me too!" He snarled. Still impressive.
"No, go back to your video games and your checkers, and leave the supernatural meddling to the supernatural." Lily told him, crossing her arms over her chest.
"The supernatural came up to my back door, literally. So tell me I don't have a right to have a part in this."
"You do have a right, but I have the final say." Lily told him. "I don't want to have to save you while I'm saving Owen."
"Who said you were saving me?" Lily glared at him, her patience gone.
"Can you cut through skin and muscle with your teeth? Channel your energy into your hands and heal with heat? Bend in angles that would break your spine? Send fear into the hearts of minions? Are you Immortal?"
"No, you can distract them until you get killed, distract me and get me killed. You can feel pain, and fear. You will make them stronger and I already have a problem with that."
His face had turned to a deathly pale. "I can't do anything to take revenge?"
"I won't let you." Lily uncrossed her arms and walked away. It was really too bad, he was cute.
"These things are delicate, take extra patience." Owen told her.
"Yeah I know." Lily grumbled.
"So stop that." Owen growled.
Lily froze and stood still. She put her foot back on the ground and lowered her arms from above her head.
"Why are you dancing around like a monkey on meth?"
"Hey! I'm bored."
"We are watching the teachers and your goofing off."
"Your watching teachers, I am here to make sure we don't get caught."
"Why are we watching teachers?"
"Aside from the fact that they are totally evil, I'm hoping for a clue as to where Malachi is."
"First time you've told me his real name."
"You are staying very far away from him."
"Why?" Lily looked at him from the corner of her eye.
"If he can control Sunny, he can control a werewolf no problem."
"Thank you for your vote of confidence." Lily said dryly, trying to a hide a bit of hurt.
"Your welcome, now shut up and stop moving." Owen hissed, grabbing hold of the back of her jeans and pulling her down roughly next to him.
"What are we looking for?"
"I don't know, let's go." Lily shot to her feet, and followed Owen until she ran into him and hit the ground.
"Hey!"
"You did it." Lily glared at the boy standing in front of her and stood up. As she was pulling herself up, his hand shot out and pushed her back down.
"Hey!" She shouted, fully agitated.
"That time." He smirked holding out his hand. "I did it."
Lily grabbed his hand on a slight chuckle, until he pulled in her arm so hard she flew from the floor before she'd put any pressure to help and into Owen's body, bouncing her face off her shoulder and losing her breath.
"Ow?"
"No shit Sherlock!" Lily grumbled. Owen laughed and let her go. Lily rolled her eyes and sighed.
"You are not very nice!"
"I'm fallen, I don't need to be nice. You do, or you get shot for rabies." Lily glared at him, a snarl escaping her lips.
"You see? You can't even fight it when people call you a bitch." Owen told her, his eyes sparkling with happiness.
"You are an Ass." She told him, laughing. Son of a bitch it's true too!
"Yeah." He agreed, and Lily sighed. She rubbed her mouth, finding a very sore lip under her finger. Fat lip, lovely.
