"He's so sweet!" Lily looked at her hand. This was the third time going through all her fingers.

"I took one look into those baby blues and I was history!" She screamed.

"Did you know that he's sweet and adorable and perfect and - ah, nevermind."

"What now?" Lily perked up.

"Well, he kind of told me he was an angel." She took a breath. "A fallen angel."

Oh, he told her. "And I'm a fire hawk! A Phoenix! How cool is that!? It explains so much though!"

"Cool, Danny." Lily told her.

"Yeah, but how cool is it that you're a werewolf?! I mean, that is so freaking cool!" Lily closed her eyes.

"Yeah." She muttered.

"I am so excited! I'm going to ask him out, he's just amazing." Lily sighed.

"Cool, do it." She cringed at her less than enthused voice.

"I will, tonight! Right now! I had so much fun at your house!" Lily shrugged.

"So what di-" The phone gave the dial tone. She pulled it from her ear and sighed.

Stupid, just stupid. Be happy for her!

Yeah, but that's not easy!

Whatever.

Lily waited for the phone to ring again, it never did.

"Lily." Jace said from his position against the wall.

"Hey." She waved.

"Owen. Boys messed up."

"What now?" She asked, not really paying attention.

"He hasnt insulted me once yet. He keeps texting and smiling. I think he's possessed!"

"Not likely. New girlfriend. My friend actually."

"Oh, that sucks."

"Why?" Lily asked.

"You can't hang out with him anymore."

"Why now?"

"He's dating your friend. If you hang with him, you are taking him from her. If your alone with him, she won't know what's going on. And if something does happen what will you say to her?"

Lily stopped. Oh god, true.

"Not a big deal. We didn't hang out much anyway."

"So, what's new?"

"Not a thing." Lily told him.

"Alright class, today we are taking about the Werewolf." Lily sighed.

"Who can tell me somethig about this beast?"

"They're hot!" One girl screamed.

"They have rock hard abs, and delicious arms!"

"They're gay." One guy said.

"They're perverts, imprinting on children."

"They're stupid and smell like dog." One girl said.

"They're like big dogs."

"Class! Enough!" Mr. Sadie yelled.

"The classical Werewolf isn't like the Twilight wolf." He said disappointed.

"In the old tales, a werewolf was a cannibalistic creature with wolfing features and human waking ability."

Lily looked up.

"There were old trials set up, men accused of this sort of witchcraft were either set to be burned alive, or dissected."

"A werewolf was typically created through a particularly evil soul making a deal with the devil, cursing him to a split existence of wolf and man."

Mr. Sadie sighed. "There is then the story of the Werewolf that Twilight is based on."

"This one was that a man was cursed by a spited witch practicing black magic, he would be cursed to roam the full moon as a creature of the night, and the day a man with no knowledge of his identity."

"In either case the creature was known to attack at random, anything that it found as a threat or food."

"So they weren't like, in control?"

"The human mind wasn't present. They remembered nothing, and the accused were killed by vengeful villagers."

Lily sat back. So she was a dangerous creature.

"They weren't known to mate, like we like to call it. The wolfine creature would rape a woman and abduct her, all known cases say that the women were found ripped open and devoured from the inside out." He looked around. "Talk about labor pains."

"The Wolfman is know. Throughout the world, in every culture. So now it's your turn, you will choose a creature of your liking, and link them to the Werewolf. Compare and contrast, tell if they could hypothetically be allies, or if they should be mortal enemies."

"Lily, come here a moment." He said, sitting at his desk as the class erupted in chaos.

"Your grade is lacking in this class. I think if you can like two to three animals in your project, I can up your points and see what we can do about your grade. If you do well I'll add points to your lacking assignments and well see where you come out." Lily nodded.

"By the way, werewolves aren't what has been written. Remember history is written by the victor." He said, his eyes studing closely.

"Thank you, Mr. Sadie."

"High Council Member Brody." He said. "Not all of us Teachers are evil, nor are we human. There is a fine line between supernatural and unnatural."

"Lily sat down and flicked her pen back and forth."

The idea came to her, and she grinned. Her pen flew across her paper, and her thoughts alined.

Despite how the personal issue effected her, she couldn't bring herself to abandon her friends. And this paper might just be the reason she had to search for ways to kill a dragon and utilize a Phoenix and a fallen angel.
