The ride finished early when Riven got nervous at the blue tint to her skin. Holding your breath for so long made her head spin. So she sat on the swings in the little kid playground trying to catch her breath.

"Sorry, I didn't know about the whole allergy thing." Bane said softly.

"I'm fine." Lily smiled cheerily. This was so normal for her. Pretending, acting faking her whole life. . .

"Well your cute." He grinned and Lily smiled. Compliments . . . she still didn't know how to handle them.

Riven jogged over and fell into a squat in front of her, hands resting on her knees. "Bane and I have to go if we're going to make it to the party." Lily looked him in the eyes, seeing the dilation and the way his tone dragged. He was high, and so was Bane.

She stood to her feet fighting the dancing dots of clean oxygen getting into her lungs and sighed.

"Have fun." She told him, hoping to channel enough energy into her hands to hopefully protect him.

"Can I call you, sometime?" Surprise flickered through her before butterflies fluttered in her stomach. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her little black phone and handed it over. He was quick about it and then called his own phone to make sure.

Lily watched, biting her lip as he tapped on her phone before he handed it back. When she took hold of it and glanced at her side to find her pocket he yanked her into a gentle hug.

Lily returned the hug and pressed her hands to his back, praying he'd be safe. She didn't know of she just liked him or if she actually wanted a relationship but she didn't want to see him hurt, ever.

With numb arms she let him go, and he climbed in the car. She waved to Bane before walking up the hill. Sunset had just fallen and she turned around to see him wave at her. She waved back and walked out of sight.

When she got back to her mom, her words were too slurred to understand. The frustration with her life reached a breaking point and Lily simply sighed.

"Mom we are leaving, now."

"One more drink, and we'll leave." Lily glared at her.

"No, now." Lily gripped the bottle and set it on the bar, and grabbed we mothers hand. She dragged the drunk from the bar and into the car. "You have no right to act like this! I am the adult!" Biting her tongue she started the car and backed away from the disaster zone.

"Then act like an adult." Lily was careful as she left town, and when her phone vibrated in her pocket, she ignored it and focused.

"Mom?" She glanced to the side and just turned back to the front. Disappointment filled her as she saw her mother passed out next to her.

The drive was long and Lily felt like crying. She loved working at her grandmothers bar, her grandma was her favorite person, always laughing and smiling, ready to fix the world and all the problems in it. Monica was the best, absolute best ever. Lilies heart hurt when she realized she wouldn't get to see her this week but she put her chin up and drove home.

Lily parked the car and sighed. She shook her mother awake and helped her to the couch. She had only a half hour before her second job started and she didn't even want to know where her father was.

She took out her phone and opened the ignored text message. 'Mtin u ws ik @ fary tall.' depression filled her but she smiled anyway.

She replied easily. 'Thank you, me too." she sent the text and then she left for work.

She waitressed in a local restaurant and the tips were good but the wage wasn't. She finished at eleven and picked up her phone to see nothing.

She sighed and left, the walk was short but unease filled her.

She stepped one foot inside and heard her mother scream. "I can't do it with her!"

"No, I need my daughter to work that place, it's too much for me." Lily stopped.

"Mom, I am not going to tell my daughter she can't come with me to work there anymore." Lily stopped. The day kept getting worse.

"If you don't need her you don't need me. Good bye." Tears stung her eyes but she sighed and held them back.

She waited a minute and then shouted, "I'm home!"

She walked into the family room and smiled. "Honey go to bed, it's late." That smile faded quickly.

"Oh, ok. Goodnight." She walked and sat on her bed, feeling the betrayal fill her.

She pulled the blanket over her and closed her eyes against the pain in her stomach. It hurt so bad. . .

The next day Lily got up and texted Riven. She jumped in the shower and dressed quickly feeling the cold air on her wet skin. She glanced at her phone and then went back to getting ready for the day.

Sunday passed slowly as the feeling in her stomach got worse. Disappointment filled her when she crawled in bed and had heard nothing.

Waking up the next morning she spent more time getting ready and rode the bus to school.walking she smiled at her friends and went to her locker. She put in her combination and then felt the hard burn of something whip her skin.

Allison Garbin waved a little rubber ruler in the air. "Did that hurt, little cry baby?" Lily sighed.

"Are you dumb?" Lily shut we door, waiting for it to latch before walking away.

"Aw, are you going to go cry some more?"

Lily laughed and continued walking. "Little Lily cries at night look at that baby cry!" She simply smirked at her.

"I heard your moms a drunk and your dads an invalid." Lily stopped and turned around with a brilliant smile. How did she get that kind of information? Then it clicked in place. Jasmine told her.

"Yeah, whatever you say." she walked into her first class and fought against her trembling hands. That had hurt. . .

Lunch rolled around and Gale giggled. "There's a new boy!"

Lily glanced around and found him sitting alone at the end of the table. She looked at her lunch and sighed.

She abandoned her tray and friend and walked to meet him. "Hey."

He glanced at her, his ace expressionless. "Yeah."

"What's your name?" She examined him quickly. Long blond hair, grey blue eyes, sad face.

"Owen." He smiled suddenly.

"Well, hi there Owen. You can come sit with my friends and me, if ya want."

"Maybe later." He said, smile fading. Lily looked back at her end of the table and saw Sana sit.

Sana was a boy crazy flirt. It wouldnt be so bad if she were pretty but sadly she wasn't at all. She was short, and she seemed to forget to shower. She was a cross dresser but today she was extra revealing and she had the kind of body most were told to cover up. Not to mention she had a selfish and greedy personality that made sure she got what she wanted.

"Alright. See ya around Owen."

The rest of the day passed quickly. She got home and sat on her bed and pulled out her laptop. She clicked on her story and read over the last entry. Writing and drawing were the things that helped her keep her mind together. Too bad it didnt stop the pain people caused.

She wrote for a whole and then turned it off, not finding anything to inspire herself. She sat at the kitchen counter and sighed. "Do I even want to know?" Her parents weren't even home.

Lily opened a bag of pizza rolls and ate them before jumping in the shower and going to bed.

The third day, Owen sat at the lunch table with them and stared at her. Sana flirted quite obviously but it didn't do anything. Sana grabbed Lilies shirt as soon as Owen left the table.

"I want him." Lily groaned. Here we go.
