Chapter 45

Third Person's POV

"Hey, it's been two months. Aren't you tired of doing the same thing again and again? Come on. Napapagod rin ako."

"Love, I'm really really sorry. Pero matatapos na rin lahat ng 'to. I promise, babawi ako sa'yo." niyakap nito ang huli at doon na rin ito napayakap pabalik dahil sa lungkot na nadarama.

"Just... Just tell her already. Maybe—Maybe... S-Something might change if you talk to her." dagdag pakiusap pa nito habang mahigpit na nakayakap sa kasama.

"Yes. Yes, I will..."

Samantala, sa 'di kalayuan ay napadaan naman ang dalawang estudyante at saktong-sakto namang naabutan nito ang mahigpit na pagyayakapan ng dalawang taong tila ba sinusubukang magtago sa mata ng nakararami dahil sa posisyon nitong mahigpit na magkayakap habang nasa likuran ng isang abandodanong gusali ng paaralan.

"Wait, hindi ba sina ano 'yun..."

Tinanggal rin nito ang kamay sa bibig ng dalaga kaya naman nakapagsalita na ito, "Wow.. Hindi na lutang, oa na gano'n? Hmp. Sabi mo eh."

Nag-umpisa na ito maglakad papalayo habang nakabusangot ang mukha kaya naman dali-dali itong sinundan ng kasama.

"Teka, huy! Akin! Wait lang!"

"Hmp!"

Sela's POV

"How are you and Justin?"

I stopped chopping the meat on my plate and turned to look at Dad.

"W-We're good... Yeah." alam kong hindi nakaligtas sa tenga nina mommy at kuya ang pagkautal ko.

"Really?" he also stopped eating and glance at me, "How 'bout...you and Abby?" mahinang tanong nito.

"Abby..." nakaramdam naman ako ng kirot sa dibdib nang banggitin ko ang pangalan nito.

It's been a while...

"Yes. How is she?"

Nagtataka man kung bakit nito tinatanong ang kalagayan ni Abby ay sinagot ko pa rin ito.

"I... S-She's fine... Yeah, I g-guess she's doing f-fine..."

I felt my blood boil by the next words that came from his mouth.

"Did she stopped courting you already?"

Natihimik ang aming table.

Malapit nang dumugo ang mga palad ko sa mahigpit at madiing pagkakakuyom ko sa mga ito.

Naiinis ako. Nagagalit. Gusto kong sumigaw at mag-walk out sa family dinner na 'to pero alam kong hindi tamang gawin 'yon.

While preventing my tears, I'm about to say yes but Kuya Ugi saved me from the hell.

"Ye—"

"Dad, Uncle Carlos wanted me to tell you to meet him at the company later. I just remembered."

"Oh, Carlos?" pagkompirma naman ni Dad.

"Yes, Dad."

After hearing Kuya Ugi's answer, Dad just nodded nonchalantly. As if he already knows what they're going to talk inside that damn company.

Hindi na rin ulit nabaling pa sa akin ang atensyon ni Dad dahil dumating na rin ang waiter dala ang desserts.

While the waiter's busy serving us, I gave my older brother a secret thank you glance and proceeded to eat my meal.

Alam ko naman ito na 'yung inaantay niyo eh. Ang malaman 'yung buong katotohanan sa nangyayari sa amin ni Abby.

At hindi ko sasabihin ngayon kung anong nangyayari, basahin niyo na lang sa susunod na chapters nitong story.

Yeah. You read it right. It's been two months since I've started to avoid Abby at all costs.

And it's been two months since I have last seen that beautiful smile on her lips. Now, it's all gone. And I know it's because of me. It's because of what's happening to us. Because of me, I can see that she's starting to lose herself again.

It's all because of me and I hate it. I hate that I can't do anything about it. I hate that I am not brave enough to free myself from this fvcking problem I'm involved in right now.

Being stuck with a person you don't love in this fvcking arranged marriage is pretty blood boiling.

Yes. A bullshit arranged marriage.

I've been stuck with this stupid thing since that day.

Flashback

After Mang Ben stopped the car in front of our entrance door to park the car in our garage, I immediately noticed an unfamiliar car parked beside my Dad's Mercedes-Benz.

I frowned. This is the first time I saw that one. Who is it this time? Oh, maybe just one of Dad's business partners. Yeah, probably.

Nagtataka man ay binuksan ko na ang entrance door at tuluyang pumasok na sa loob.

Ngunit, paakyat na sana ako ng hagdan patungo sa ikalawang palapag ng bahay kung nasaan ang kwarto ko nang marinig ko ang boses ni Daddy at may isa pa itong kasama kung hindi ako nagkakamali.

Before I turned my head to look at the living room from where the voices are coming, my name is already called by my Dad, "Marsela!"

I immediately looked at our living room and there's Dad, smiling at me. Mukhang maganda ang pinag-uusapan ng mga ito.

"Dad!"

I half-run in their direction and when I came face to face with Dad, I noticed a figure which belongs to an old man, probably just by Daddy's age and he's wearing a suit, so I assumed he's really a business partner of my Dad.

Regardless, I still gave my Dad a big hug because I'm a Daddy's girl. I don't care if I'm being a little childish right now but start to find my care and you guys won't find it.

"How's school, my princess?" he always calls me that because according to him, I'm his favorite among us, three siblings. Hahaha. And that's a secret to tell but I can also say that it's not really a secret to everyone who notices how Dad pampered me every time I'm with him.

"It's great, Dad. Actually, Abby was supposed to bring me home today but her Dad needs her to run some errands in their company. So, yeah. Good thing, there's Mang Ben." I didn't have a hard time bringing Abby's name to my Dad since he knows already what's the thing between Abby and me so there will be no problem bringing her to the topic.

"Abby? Who's that, your friend?" I got surprised when this old man asked me directly that question.

We're not even cl... Nevermind.

I was about to answer him "No, she's my suitor." But Dad immediately cut me off before I even start answering this old man.
