Chapter 28

Abby's POV

It's been weeks since I've developed this romantic feelings towards Sela.

It is kinda unbelievable 'cause we all know that we were not like--how we are right now--from how we were back then. Ewan ko ba sa puso ko. Natututo na namang sumugal...

I can say that my past is still haunting me but I might take a risk if loving Marsela would bring back the smile that all of us have been longing to see.

After all, she's not really hard to love.

"Mars, sasama ka ba mamaya? Sleepover daw kayna Evans." I looked over to Rans, beside me.

"Hmm... I don't think---"

I was about to say I am planning to sleep when I got home since it's Friday already but she cut me off before I could even reply.

"Sela and others would join us! If that's what making you decline."

Sela will be there too? "Okay, then." I smiled at her while nodding.

"Naks, 'pag talagang si Marsela e 'no? Hays, iba talaga nagagawa ng in love." pang-aasar pa nitong si Ransoy.

"Baliw." I chuckled but instantly stopped when Miss Angel caught me.

"Baliw? Sinong mas baliw sa'ting dalawa, Abelaine! I am here in front, discussing your new topic for today while ikaw 'tong tumatawa-tawa jan nang wala ka namang kausap!" the students inside the room just laughed when the Prof said that.

I prevent myself from rolling my eyes when I heard what she just said.

Duh, edi si Rans kausap ko.

I stood up from my seat and lightly bowed my head and gave Miss Angel my sweetest smile, "Sorry po, ma'am. I just remembered something that made me laugh. Nothing serious, please proceed."

We heard her scoffed at my reply and eventually proceeded on what topic she would be discussing in front of us.

But not with her eyes still giving me a glare or should I say a warning to not make some trouble again, like what just happened a while ago.

Sela's POV

"Evans!! Akin na kasi! Mimah, oh!"

I just laughed at how Brei gets annoyed when Dana's lifting up her arm to prevent her from getting the can of cola from her hand.

"Dana, just give it to her na.." I'm the first one to say that.

"Oo nga ate, baka umiyak 'yan si ate Brei hahaha." segunda naman ni Coco habang nakasandal kay Mari na kasalukuyang kumakain ng sandwich.

We're here in the cafeteria taking our time to eat some food while the other girls are not here yet, including Abby.

"Abotin mo muna."

"Honeybunch, ibigay mo na 'yan. 'Pag 'yang si Brei talaga umiyak, lagot ka jan." singit naman ni Jem.

Sa wakas ay ibinaba na ni Dana ang kanyang braso at siyang hudyat naman ni Brei para kunin 'yung coke niya.

Jusko, si Jemimah lang pala ang kailangang mag-salita para mapatigil 'tong kapreng 'to sa kalokohan niya.

"Uy, honeybunch daw.." napatingin naman kami sa gawi nina Gabb at Ella nang mag-salita si Gabb.

Nakakalokong ngiti ang makikita mo sa mga labi nito kaya naman 'di ko mapigilang palihim na matawa.

Right, they still don't know.

"Wait, matanong ko nga kayong dalawa. Ano ba talagang meron sa inyo ha?" natahimik ang lahat nang biglang mag-tanong si Sheki.

"We're..." nagka-titigan ang dalawa at bahagyang namula. Nag-sesenyasan pa ito kung sinong mag-eexplain sa kanilang dalawa.

As if on cue, Dana suddenly lifted up their intertwined hands and proudly announced, "Guys, kami na!"

You can hear at our table the 'ooh's' and 'aah's' that are coming from my friends' mouths while having their jaw, still dropped.

I am also stunned from my seat 'cause Dana's announcement really confused the hell out of me.

Upon recovering from what happened, I saw Jem widen her eyes and instantly removed her hand from Dana's that made us all look at her confused.

"Anong tayo na?! Sabi ko manligaw ka muna 'di ba!" she annoyingly said.

I sighed in relief after hearing that. That's what I know because that's what she told me. She told me that their feelings are mutual but she still wants to experience how it feels being courted, so she explained it to Dana.

"Alam niyo, ang labo niyo," Sheki commented, and then she proceeds to eat her meal.

"So...ligawan stage, gano'n?" Alice asked.

The two looked at each other again and sighed, "Right." Dana replied.

Later on, our table set to noisy again and that's when I remember that Abby is still not here.

However, I also remember that she's blockmates with Rans on her second-period schedule every Friday so I got my phone from my small bag to make a call.

I was about to click the call button to dial Rans' number when two hands from my back suddenly cover my eyes.

I inhaled and quickly recognized the owner of the scent. Sino pa ba?

Of course, the one and only...

"Abby?" narinig ko ang mahinang tawa nito mula sa aking likuran at maya-maya lang ay tinanggal na nito ang kanyang kamay sa mata ko at umupo sa tabi ko.

"Hays, nice guess huh.."

She really looks hot when she's only with her white polo and our school skirt uniform...but wait.

"And why are you wearing that again huh, Trinidad?" I asked while raising my eyebrows at her.

"Oh, this?" she looks surprised when I raised my eyebrows but quickly shrugs it off and smiled at me, "Miss Vice President, mainit po kasi sa hallway kanina habang papunta kami ni Ransoy dito, so...'yun."

"You sure about that?" still suspecting that something is not right, I asked her again.

She stared at me for a while and then chuckled, "Iniisip mo ba na bumalik na naman ako sa old self ko? No, of course not. And why would I even do that? I don't even have reason to do so."

Abby's POV

Nag-kakagulo pa rin sa table namin kaya hindi yata napansin ng iba na seryoso kaming nag-uusap nitong si Marsela.

"Iniisip mo ba na bumalik na naman ako sa old self ko? No, of course not. And why would I even do that? I don't even have reason to do so." I said while still smiling at her.

I really wanted to tell her that I'm not the old Abelaine who know nothing but being a trouble maker in the campus. I wanted to tell her that I've changed already and I will not go back to my old self.

Masaya na 'ko sa nangyayari sa buhay ko ngayon. Malaki na rin ang improvement ko when it comes to my academics and my own behavior. So, I.Will.Not.Comeback.To.My.Old.Self. Period.

Tahimik pa rin itong katabi ko so I took this opportunity to went near her and squeeze her chubby cheeks.

Aw, my baby.

"Seryoso ako, wala na 'yung dating Abby na kilala mo and we will never encounter her anymore. Masaya ako na nag-bago ako and that's all because of you, Marsela. It's all because of your patience in helping me to correct all of the mistakes that I've now regretted doing so. And I thank you for that."

I saw her eyes getting teary so I immediately brought her body in my arms to hug her.

Hays... I really love this girl.
