chapter 10

Linda's pov

I ran upstairs, i was so excited about tonight's dinner. I wanted to get know Mason's family and Mason too. I felt good when I talked to him. The words slipped easily from my mouth, I wasn't expecting that, so I guess i can give him shot.

I took a long shower. I was so happy at the moment that I felt i could do anything. It was like the best feeling of my life to have dinner with Mason and to try become friends. I trusted Mason. We haven't known eachother that long and I havn't talked to him much but I feel like i know him just by looking into his beautiful black eyes. I felt safe again, but I can't give him the chance to break my heart. It will  actually be fun to have a friend like Mason. I wasn't expecting to have a boy as a friend anytime soon but it just happened. I trusted Mason so much. I felt safe when I looked into his eyes.

We knocked on the door, a pretty blonde girl opened it.

"Hey, so you're Linda? The girl that took over my brother's mind three days ago?"

I stared at her, I was actually shocked. What did Mason tell her about me? I blushed then Mason came out of nowhere and hit his sister.

"Stop flirting with my new friend." that was actually funny I couldn't help but laugh out loud. His mother came to the door then.

"Are you leaving our guests outside Mason?Wheres your manners?Come in" she ordered

.The house was so big and it had very nice furniture, all modern and well-organized around the house.

"So Linda you're only here only for vacation?" his sister asked. "Oh sorry let me introduce myself first. I'm Lucy,Mason's sister."

I smiled. This girl was so sweet, I loved her. "Nice to meet you Lucy, and no this year I'm not traveling home, I"ll be staying here with cousins while my mother goes back." I answered her question but I was really uncomfurtable. I looked back to Mason to see him smiling gratefully with wide black eyes. I couldn't help but smile back.

"Great so I'll be stuck with you all time." he teased. I didn't look at him.

My mother and Mason's stayed in the kitchen preparing the food and talking. Fathers weren't invited to this dinner. It was more like girls and mothers but why was Mason here? I wanted him to stay anyway. He comforted me when he was around.

After some time of chatting with Lucy and Mason, Anna, Mason's mother shouted from the kitchen,"Dinner is ready. Come on now,you can talk later guys." She was really sweet too just like Mason and Lucy are.

"You messed up my plan. Damn you." he whispered in his mom ear and moved toward me pulling out my chair and allowing me to sit. Holy shit he was so sweet. "Thanks" I whispered. He smiled in acknowledgement and sat infront of me. We were all talking and laughing about random things when Mason suddenly stood up.

"Linda I'm gonna sing you a song tonight." the words came from his mouth very quickly and he looked like he was nervous.Why was he nervous? What was this song about? I looked back at him forcing a smile because the fear was building up inside me again.

He went into his room and came back out after some time with his guitar and he started playing. He sat on the ground and looked at me hopefully when he was playing the music. Wow he was singing hero by Enrique igleasis? That was so sweet. He started singing and when he reached the part that says 'I can be your hero babe' I couldn't help but let tears fall from my eyes. I liked that so much. I was never going to forget this moment for my whole life. It was just so memorable.

My mom's mouth was open, I can tell that she's shocked that Mason's was doing this for me. The girl that stopped her life at the age of 15. I wanted to go and kiss Mason so bad.  

He was so adorable. This song was amazing, I adored it and I loved it more and more when It came from Mason, my neighbor that Ive only known for a few days.

After the song finished Mason looked in my eyes pleadingly "Could I be your hero Linda" What was that about? What did he mean? I told him we're just friends and that's all.

"What do you mean Mason?" I asked

"I don't want to be a player anymore. I want to be with you and protect you. Make you forget your past." I stood up looking down at him as he was still on the floor begging me. "Mason I can't" I looked at him apologitically.

"I didn't ask you to fall in love with me. I'm asking to be with you as friends but to protect you and stay with you" I couldn't say anything. I just cried, almost forgetting what happened to me at the age of 15 when I was the saddest person on earth.

He stood up putting both his hands on my shoulders. I blushed as Lucy, Anna and mom were watching us. This was embarassing. I looked into his eyes which were scanning my face. He put his hands on my cheeks brushing my tears away with his thumb. "I ..... I ..... I want you to trust me" he stated. I pulled away "I trust you Mason, you're my friend." I said truthly.

"Really?" he asked happily.

"Yupp" I confirmed.

"Um...um...oh....thats great." he took my hands letting me to sit again and finish dinner. He moved and turned to go to his room. "Your not finishing dinner?" Anna asked.

"Damn you Anna how can I think about eating at the moment." he was so serious. This boy is scaring.

After some time he came back out of his room while we were all laying on the sofa chatting. "So will you watch a movie with me tonight?" he asked laying on the sofa next to me. I couldn't help but  move away from him a little bit. I can't be that close to a guy even if this guy was an adorable one like Mason. "Yeah sure" I confirmed.

My mom and Anna went into the other room while we stayed in the living room. Me, Mason and Lucy watching 'Eclipse'. I loved that movie, Edward was just adorable ..... like Mason.

After some time of watching the movie, I could see that Mason wasn't watching it at all, he was staring at me all the time. "I'm going to bed, goodnight" Lucy said as she stood up and looked to Mason in a way I couldn't understand.

"Good night Lucy, nice to meet you." I said

"Nice to meet you too. I had a great time." she walked to her room so there was no one else, just me and Mason.

"So this was all planned." I said looking to the movie. He moved closer to me making me freeze "Mason don't" I warned. He took my hand "I wont hurt you." I quickly took my hand back. "Ok I trust you but don't touch me." he laughed teasingly "Ok, I'm wont" he said.

"I'm gonna go Mason, im tired." I stood up wanting to go home. "But its so early."  

I nodded "I go to sleep early."

"Ok so see you tomorrow?" he asked raising one eyebrow.

"Where?" i asked

"Ok so I wanna take you to my favourite restaurant."

"Sounds good but I hope you're not thinking that its a date?" he laughed "Don't worry we're just friends" I smiled. The smile never left my face as I stared at him. "Good night" I said again. 

He opened the door for me. "I'll miss you,"

I looked back at him forcing a smile then heading towards my door again. He stood there watching me as I opened the door and smiled to him "Good night"

"Sleep tight" he said. I smiled "You too"

"Do you think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

"Well you have to, else I'm not going with you tomorrow." I teased.

"That's unfair."

"I think it's fair enough. Now go sleep."

"I'll try."

"Good night then." i said closing the door. This was the best day of my life. I  never expected myself to be happy the way I am now. I was over the moon. I feel like I'm the only girl in the world. "Oh thank you Mason" I whispered to myself as I felt alseep.
